What you can do to make a socialist revolution happen in the United States: join a Marxist party/ organization, join/ start a tenants union, join a labor union, do food distro, distribute harm reduction supplies, protest, teach younger generations about Marxism
They essentially banned TikTok in 4 seconds but can’t codify roe, give us universal healthcare, raise the minimum wage, stop school shootings or end the genocide in Palestine. The United States is a failed state and the ONLY way to fix this is to organize. Join a communist party.
If you’re band doesn’t talk about the vast atrocities being committed against trans people, poc, women, working class people or the planet. You’re not a punk band, you’re a brand with a soundtrack
Ethel Cain literally said we should assassinate the president and your apolitical ass band can’t even post a bail fund link or protest flyer, fuck all y’all
As a Jewish person myself with a masters degree in History I can confidently say Netanyahu will go down in the history books as a genocidal maniac along with Hitler and Columbus. Fuck this murderer and fuck Israel. Organize and fight back. Tikkun Olam and L’Chaim you fascist fuck
BREAKING:
🇮🇱 Netanyahu:
"We will enter Rafah and we don't care about the court in The Hague, the court is anti-Semitic"
"We will enter Rafah because we have no other choice. We will destroy the Hamas battalions there, we will complete all the objectives of the war, including
Pat from
@DrugChurch
has a podcast talking shit about my tweet when I said punk bands should be political. I’ll just say if you don’t do mutual aid, direct action or political organizing you shouldn’t be talking shit about someones politics. America is too fucked up to be silent.
There’s a lot of about shitty venues to avoid, but what are some active venues you SHOULD play
Some of mine are:
Rubber Gloves (Denton, TX)
Whittier Bar (Tulsa, OK)
Dirty Dungarees (Columbus, OH)
The Broadway (NYC)
Quarry House Tavern (DC)
AS220 (Providence, RI)
If you’re doing a Halloween cover set, the band you’re covering has got to be kinda goofy. Weezer, blink, my Chem, paramore, linkin park, deftones etc. all good options. I love bands like Orchid but I don’t wanna see someone cover them while I’m dressed like Peter Griffin
What are some legendary diy venues that are still active? Here’s some that come to mind:
924 Gilman - Berkeley, CA
Mr Roboto Project - Pittsburgh, PA
The Milestone - Charlotte, NC
The Smell - Los Angeles, CA
The Che Cafe - San Diego, CA
AS220 - Providence, RI
I gotta be honest, if you had any release this year, even if it didn’t get on some year end list that’s a huge accomplishment. I’ve been in bands since I was 17 & didn’t even release my first LP until I was 25. Music is hard and putting out ANYTHING AT ALL is super impressive!
@RonnieRadke
Thanks for the free publicity Ronnie! We’re not rich though! I’m a public school teacher and the other member is a server at a restaurant! Just came here to say: Free Palestine! Fuxk the cops! Trans rights are human rights! The workers have nothing to lose but their chains!
There is NO FUCKING way wack ass ronnie radke is saying we have rich parents. We are not rich Dane is a server at a restaurant and I’m a public school teacher
My take on merch cuts is that everyone should be a communist and join a Union immediately because the working class are suffering, the planet is dying and we are stronger together
I hear a lot of diy bands say they wanna play fest or fauxchella and stuff and that’s really good and you should do that. But honestly if you can get time off, bands should just be touring as much as possible. Even if there’s no big destination just get in the van and have fun!!
I’m not saying you gotta write political
Lyrics all the time, but with the state of the world. You gotta use whatever platform you have for social change
If you hate Kissinger you should become a card carrying communist and get involved in your community. There actually is a political system that wants all capitalist imperialists de*d! It’s not just for viral tweets anymore! You can help your community and do mutual aid IRL too!
As a Jewish person and historian I feel it’s important for me to voice my support for Palestinian liberation. However, I’ve heard over the past few days some folks don’t feel as confident because they are afraid to offend or don’t know about the situation. So here’s a thread:
A lot of new/ smaller bands always ask for help getting on local shows and the answer is definitely: go to local shows you’re not playing! If people know your band or know you support other bands then they’re much more likely to book you! Support each other :)
Man I got no respect for bands obsessed with their follower ratio. Support your friends, support other bands, share other people’s shit and make friends. You’re not a rockstar and you shouldn’t wanna be one!
Honestly we should only be shitting on bands that have bad political views/ r assholes etc. Whether you think this band is corny or not is 1 thing but to me it just looks like some kids using TikTok. Every band promotes their shit and tons of bands even PAY INSTAGRAM for ads lol
Okay so it’s highly likely that I’ll be able to book a diy music/ fingerboard fest in the northeast in summer 2025. Most likely Philly or NYC drop a comment or dm if you’d like to play!
If you think I’m an insane communist you’re a fucking dumbass, the planet’s on fire and there’s like 4 genocides going on as we speak. You’re insane for not caring
With the pitchfork news looking bleak can folks tag some cool music publications in the comments? I know of
@GetAlternative
@brooklynvegan
and
@stereogum
but I’m honestly completely clueless on how to go about press for albums haha. Don’t know who else to reach out to
@foxtailsct
Hey
@ToucheAmore
why did you Immediately kick off foxtails over an anonymous email about events from when someone was a child but refused to make a statement on
@leg_dog
who admitted and was confirmed to exhibit abuse? Seems institutional to me
Sincerely do not understand bands that go and unfollow a bunch of other bands/accounts to maintain a good “follower ratio” isn’t the whole point of music to have fun and support your friends?
Barely anyone will remember your band in 50 years. What they will remember is the Palestinian gen*cide and how people used their power and voice to stop it. Use your platform for good, spread resources, protest, advocate for boycotts, organize and help each other!
Need to hear a mosh call-out but it’s just the sound clip from dodgeball that goes “if you can dodge a wrench you can dodge a ball” and then just like two snare cracks followed by pure chaos
Every musician should fight for universal healthcare instead of increased Spotify royalties because it would:
1. Make being a working artist much more financially doable
2. Help everyone in the entire country
3. Actually happen
This is fucking insane, read the whole thread. Cancel every show you have at the kingsland. Fuck this place, make it go out of business, idgaf. The owner is a literal horrible person and this is where your money is going
@Uzkost_band
Security grabs me and starts dragging shoving me up the stairs. We come back to the bar area and they are screaming at me to get the fuck out and yanking on me. At this point everyone at the show and my band is in the middle of this. I tell them I need to grab my shit and then..
Man I’ve been a teacher for 8 years and have seen more school shootings on the news than I can count. Use your voice, use your platform and fuxking make a difference
My new screamo band, She Chose Violence, has our first show on April 28th at Purgatory in Brooklyn. Featuring me (Max) on drums and members of
@tonsilhockeybk
@_fnoa_
and more
A 2nd person has lit themself ON FIRE in protest of Israel’s genocide of Palestine. The least you can do is join a political Marxist party. It doesn’t matter which one you join, just do something. Links to parties are in the comments
As someone that lives in NYC and gets access to pretty much every reunion show ever, I’m genuinely shocked that these tours never go to Atlanta or the southeast in general. A lot of ppl live there and half the east coast basically has to travel to Philly every time this happens
TRANS DAY OF VISIBILITY
We are trans & nonbinary
Trans liberation is intrinsically linked to class struggle, anti-racism, anti-imperialism and anti-capitalism. None of us are free until we are all free. Organize and look out for each other. Love you all.

In case you aren’t aware, Israel has been non-stop bombing Gaza. They’ve been bombing hospitals and blocking the border escape to Egypt. Israel has shut off water and electricity for the 2 million residents of Gaza. This is some of the worst the conflict has been since 1967
Jewish person here with a Masters in History that focused on 20th century conflicts. In my professional opinion what Israel is doing to Gaza could be classified as a genocide full stop.
Doctors in
#Gaza
have just held a press conference warning that hospitals are about to collapse. Overwhelmed from the amount of injured/dead. Not enough fuel to keep them running. Supplies running out. No way to get anything into Gaza right now bc of Israel’s ‘complete siege’
Max here: I love being in this band so much and I love being in a band with my best friend Dane. Nothing better than going on tour with someone I talk to literally everyday on the phone. Ultra deluxe forever.
You probably follow me for one or more of these things
1. Communism
2. Cybergrind
3. Diy hot takes
4. You are also gender non conforming
5. You like ska
The world is really scary but you should protest if you can. The feeling in Times Square today was electric. The positivity and hope of coming together with your community means a better world is possible
