In Korea, the norm is for you to wear a mask to both protect yourself and others. If you *might* be sick, you would wear a mask out of consideration for the others you interact with. Was it inconvenient? Of course, but that’s what loving neighbor requires.

I told everyone that 35k people watched this and they were amazed. They all said they wished they prepared a little more - but I told them the beauty was in the honesty of the moment. I then told my father in law that people really liked his voice and he blushed. ☺️

If you are a Christian you are an ambassador for Christ, not your political party. As much as you want to squeeze the kingdom of God into your party, know it doesn’t fit. If you think your party is God’s party, know that your understanding of Christ & His kingdom is too small.

To the question about what Christian freedom meant, her “American” classmates responded by saying Christian freedom was the freedom to do whatever they wanted because Jesus died for their freedom. This shocked her profoundly. This idolatry of freedom fuels the idolatry of guns.

The way racism hides in plain sight is by calling Christians that challenge unjust aspects of the status quo or call out white supremacy as liberal, Marxist, or socialist. They did this to MLK in the civil rights era by calling him a communist and it continues to this day.

Preaching to the privileged often leads to applying the gospel to individual issues. Preaching to the marginalized often leads to applying the gospel to systemic issues. When you preach to the privileged, you can typically ignore systemic realities.

It’s exhausting when you have to spend time convincing people who haven’t been on the receiving end of racial prejudice, discrimination, and injustice that race issues actually need to be addressed. People were “just preaching the gospel” as they were holding slaves.

This is what the barracks would’ve looked like. It was especially harsh in 100 degree heat. We were barely there for ten minutes and feeling like the oxygen was running out from the hot temperatures. Imagine going from your home to this because the government rounded you up.

When you denounce white supremacy, it's amazing how many people will either shrink into silence or come out swinging with distractions (like black on black crime or black on anything). Racism either actively hides or emerges in full force when racism is denounced.
