I am going to get out of my comfort zone...
I noticed that I feel nervous in front of the camera and it's holding me back. Social media is all about video content these days after all.
That's why I decided to give myself a challenge - over the next 30 days I'm going to record

I had a horrible experience with my accounting firm once so I collected all the negative reviews about them I could and I linked to them from my own review.
That way you could read about my experience and immediately see other people’s reviews describing the same thing. I did

Huh, TypeScript is one of the last tech I'd give up on. Saves me from some many stupid little errors. Like passing the wrong prop. Or changing a function argument but forgetting to update it elsewhere in the codebase.

I love that this is such an American thing to have. In the meantime, Europeans just hang their laundry out the window, no Mickey Mouse stuff.

Serious question: how do they make money?
They need to be making money to pay for blue ticks.
Or are they propaganda bots to be used for disinformation later on?

I don't want movies to be video games. I like movies, I don't want to decide what the character does, I want to zone out and see a story.
Movies and video games are two different energies, not replacements for each other.

This shouldn't be allowed, getting banned from an AI these days is almost like getting banned from Google. It can really set you back.
Respect for using your X clout to shout out about this, I hope it gets their attention.

What is this? This is the second time I see a 'tiny apartment' video this month. The other one I saw was easily 6m2 so much more luxurious but a similar vibe.

many republicans / right wingers here but I think the math checks out. It’s what I’ve been telling you, people just love to hate billionaires.

Hey! I'd be happy to help you optimize your perf on Rank Anything. I noticed there's some layout shift when loading the home page as well. Want to send me a DM and I can give some suggestions?
I've just learned I'm about to lose my contract 🥲
Budget cuts and all.
It usually doesn't take me much time to find clients but it still sucks and is stressful.
Plus, I like working with this client and I hoped this contract would last.
On the plus side, I'm a few weeks away
I've been less active the past few days because I'm busy applying for jobs.
Sent out 20 applications yesterday, not including Toptal. Let's see how things go but I'm cautiously optimistic.
I work on my side projects just as much but spend less time tweeting about them.

I've been saying this for months but I don't see how captchas won't be dead within the next year or so, maybe few years tops.
I do wonder what's gonna happen when humans can't solve most captchas.
@nooriefyi
I went to the jobs section out of curiosity and this is what I found - the job requires 80h+ of work a week, expects you to work weekends and pays 140-210k/year (see screenshots).

What do you use for user authentication in a free consumer app?
I use AWS Cognito but it’s a pain to set up.
Are there any alternatives with decent pricing?

My gym has this "body pump" class, it's basically a full body workout with barbells and dumbbells. It's an hour long and heavy on the reps so it's good cardio, and it's enough to always be sore the day after. Best of both worlds 👌
@sobedominik
It's the opposite for me. I used React, Vue 2, and Vue 3, JSX just makes sense.
Vue requires me to learn another level of abstraction while in React all is JavaScript, including HTML.
Last month
@johnrushx
gave me some SEO and UX tips to bring Rank Anything to the next level. He said I should improve the quality of the content and generate more pages programmatically.
Today, I added questions & answers to each item to make each item's page more informative.

Do you ever wonder what life in Poland is like? My wife and I just uploaded a new video to our YouTube channel. It's from our visit to ✨Kędzierzyn-Koźle✨

✨A quick summary of my Reddit launch✨
I posted on r/SideProject about Rank Anything last week. I didn't prepare for it but before I posted, I had already spent weeks fixing bugs and adjusting the app to make sure it's intuitive and works smoothly ✅

Thank you all for supporting Rank Anything on Product Hunt today and yesterday!
I have some interesting comparisons between my results posting about Rank Anything on X, Hacker News, Reddit and Product Hunt. I'll post about it soon, stay tuned 📻

Wow, the amount of time I've spent google 'remove background free' while I had this on my mac the whole time 😆
But honestly, that's on Apple, this shouldn't be hidden in some random submenu. It's not a Quick Action if I have to put in more effort to reach it than literally any

No one here gave the correct way to expense this so here you go:

Then, they create a shared budget they pay into proportionally to their

I swear Google is trying to make the Fitbit app as ugly and unreadable as they can so they can. I'd love to meet the PM / designer in charge and find out what their endgame is.

Thanks for your input everyone. You've overwhelmingly told me to NOT yolo my Product Hunt launch. I've just scheduled it for next week - April 23rd 🚀
Save the date! 📅

I'm on the fence about my Product Hunt launch date.
Should I:
1. Schedule it for next Tuesday to have time to spread the word and get everyone on board?
2. YOLO it and launch tomorrow?
There are two wolves inside me. One is impatient, the other one is trying to be reasonable.

I think I accidentally found the number of indie hackers - it's around 30,000.
I'm making a private list of large accounts and there are very few indie hackers with more than 20k followers. 30k seems to be the ceiling. Accounts with 50k+ followers are either motivational

's advice last month - search impressions are finally growing.
Right now the bottleneck is indexing. I have 70 pages indexed out of 1600+. I started using the Google Indexing Script last week, now waiting for results.
Small UI tweak: I added a search button instead of searching automatically after X miliseconds without user input. I saw a lot of broken searches, hopefully this is more intuitive.

✨A peek at my embeddings code. A thread.✨
Rank Anything uses embeddings (more specifically text-embedding-3-large to generate related lists and to divide the lists into categories.
Related lists, at the moment, work much better than the categories.
My grandma lives in this tiny town in southern Poland and for some reason has the fastest internet I've ever seen anywhere.
It peaked at over 35,000 Kb/s 🤯
What are your go-to FREE SEO tools? I'm working on a definitive list - could be anything from keyword idea generation to competitor analysis to backlink tracking etc. The more the merrier! 📈

My Rank Anything to-do list. Most of these are small tasks, I'm planning to finish them this week or early next week.
Then this coding push will be over and I'll focus on making some content again.
Moving forward, one small step at a time.
Just added "Related Lists" to Rank Anything.
For example, visit the list of best books ever and you'll see that it recommends a list of audible books, a list of books about health, list of novels etc.

I’ve been developing for close to a decade and have none of these.
Things that help IMO: changing position often, sitting on the floor, laptop stand, wireless keyboard and touch pad, working out.

We're in a bubble where everyone knows what AI is, what it does, and what it does not do.
Outside of the bubble, most people don't know what an LLM is or how it works, even in very broad terms.
And if you don't understand how something works, it's easy to get frustrated when
I've recently been seeing posts from a very small indie making bubble and I want to expand my bubble a bit. Today, I made a private list of 10+ big indie maker and solo founder accounts to get more variety.
Update: I'm an idiot 🤦♂️ I made a change to not require phone number verification from Gmail users. A little detail I forgot was to push my changes to production 😄
I only realized after I emailed everyone. Pushing to production now. Should be online by the time I publish this
Today, I'm making use of my own list of top startup directories to get some exposure for Rank Anything.
It's late and I'm spent but I think I can get a directory or two done!
@marckohlbrugge
It's my pet peeve when websites don't make it easy to select your language and force you to use the language of wherever you happen to log in / sign up from.
Is it really so hard for product managers out there to understand that people do travel?
I added a small SEO feature - 'Is X better than Y' FAQ item. It still needs some polish but the core is there so I'm shipping it for Google to start indexing.
Here are some examples:
Texas vs California:
Margherita Pizza vs. Hawaiian Pizza:
I'm once again posting less a coding more. There is just so much to do that I barely have time for anything more than a couple of comments here and there.

Got this advice from
@johnrushx
on how to improve Rank Anything. Number 3. from the list is now implemented 🥳
Still needs some love, especially the mobile version which is, frankly, broken. Still, it's good enough for Google to start indexing so I launched it.

I deleted my X app 5 days ago and only use the desktop site. Best decision ever. My phone usage went down from 2-3h/day to just over 1h/day. I'm no longer compulsively checking my phone all the time so I'm more mindful and calm.
Delete social media apps 💛
I’ll give this a shot. I’m deleting my X app right now. I’ve been spending too much time reflexively checking it. Using X on my laptop should be enough.
I’ll update on the results in a few days.
Finally, I do try to bring in organic search traffic through SEO. It takes time to improve the domain ranking and bring in results but it's slowly starting to bring traffic:

The Design of Everyday Things by Don Norman is a gem. Weirdly, it's one of the most influential books I've read at uni. Once you read, you'll never look at a product the same way again.
