My son texted me yesterday: We’re in a lockdown, not a drill. An arrest was made and it ended ok. The trauma it caused will last. Kids locked in barricaded rooms, texting parents thinking it was their last text, crying, listening for gun shots in the dark. THIS IS NOT OK.

I had a 2 hr active shooter training at school last wk. We were told to fight the shooter. Throw scissors at him, heavy objects & run with our 25 elementary kids if there is opportunity. I get it. We shouldn’t be sitting ducks, but I didn’t sign up for this. It’s the guns.
