Today, I’m joining
@JoeBiden
’s team as Digital Communications & Creative Director for my home state of Florida.
Get off the sidelines and get in the game: LFG.

More black voters over the age of 65 have already voted in Georgia (201,889) than voted in total in the 2016 presidential election (193,993). There are still 9 days of voting remaining.
Speaking of outrageous... this is outrageous. She's been here since she was three. Law abiding. College grad. Dreamer (followed the LEGAL process.) Wife. Taxpayer. Friend. And she's sitting in a cell. This is crazy. This is who we WANT to be citizens.
Clicked to see why Sarah Sanders was trending and now I want to burn this website to ashes. I don't need to know this level of detail about the administration.
Y’all. I’m still sitting here with this
@AndrewGillum
news. I thought it would go a different way. But open your minds and your wallets. He is the real deal and we need to make him Florida’s next governor. Some people are just 🔥. He’s one.
If you’re headed to fly out of DCA or drop off and pick anyone up at DCA, I strongly urge you to take metro instead. It is gridlock, and the cars are backed up all the way out onto the parkway. Assume there is no parking at the airport and it’s not moving to get in.
So, you guys/gals. I did a thing. Yesterday, I filed paperwork to run for the DC Advisory Neighborhood Commission, representing 3C06. If elected, that means I would get to help (hopefully) solve issues for my neighbors and shape the future of my Cleveland Park neighborhood.
Pretty wild to see your name on the ballot! No regrets on running. Met so many cool people. Can’t wait to fight for

be the best neighborhood to live, work and play in DC!

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said anyone traveling into the U.S. via plane must provide evidence of a negative COVID-19 test to their airline, citing the rise of new coronavirus strains around the world that appear to be more contagious.
Trying out the
@wmata
train from Dulles for the first time. Only a 3 minute (covered) walk from baggage claim to the train station. Clean. Gorgeous sunset. Busy but not jammed. Couple bucks vs $60. So far, win win.

- Treat victims of mass shootings & other tragedies as a protected group, such that attacks on them are specifically against Facebook policy.
- Provide affected people with access to Facebook staff who will remove hateful & harassing posts against victims immediately.

: Welcome to a new era... one where our Main Street is going to be thriving with pedestrians, restaurant patios and farmers market, and artist pop-ups.

promises made, promises kept.
SPOILER FOR EVERYONE HARRASSING THEIR SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER ABOUT FOLLOWERS: It doesn't matter. If people don't engage or care about what you post, they are junk follows and end up hurting your brand analytics.
Makes me so crazy to see The Uptown unused. We had a great community-ownership theater pitch that was ready to go, but the owners went a different direction... and here it sits. I wonder if they'd reconsider that offer if the other tenant isn't moving forward.
Me: "Great job, your numbers this week are amazing!"
Account lead: "Yay, [gives credit to person on the team who did most of the work]
Person who did most of the work: "Yay team!"
This is what it's like working in an all women environment of my creation and I don't hate it.
Just a heads up. I've told my team that Juneteenth is a company holiday and they are welcome to turn their out-of-office on and send any clients my way that day. The recognition of emancipation should be a national holiday. Until we get that done, it's a company one.
Making a breakfast taco while wearing a "Tweet Less, Listen More" t-shirt and pineapple skull sweatpants on my morning Zoom while planning how to win Florida for Joe Biden... that's my brand.
Y’all. I am deceased. I’m writing to you from the dead to tell you that
@SenGillibrand
is as smart, witty and kind in person as she appears to be on her Twitter. Give her a follow and get ready to love her in the debates! 🇺🇸

Am I a jerk for butting in when the front desk person at the hotel told a guest checking in to go to Chic-Fil-A when he asked for a lunch rec? I can't abide hotels sending folks to eat some place they have back home. Especially not in a food town that is THIS GOOD.
I love seeing DC menus serve more (creative, delicious) non-alcoholic drinks. It helps me balance my drinking and non drinking nights, hang w pregnant or trying to get pregnant friends, whole 30 friends, friends training for races, religious holidays.
Just got an anniversary reminder that five years ago, I signed my first consulting client for my (then) newly formed company. Today, I’m working full-time for the last client I signed. No decision is permanent. You can move back and forth. I wish 2015 me had known that.
BTW, I still can’t believe this. A house call by an MD in Mexico only cost $60 flat. No insurance needed. I’m filling the Rx now. Came within 3 hours of my 7am call. Our system is broken.
In 2021, I want to continue that work. I'm joining the Novavax team full-time to help launch their new COVID-19 vaccine globally. It's an incredible team and an exciting time.
A little bit more in case you're new to hearing about Novavax: (2/2)
I’m not going to make
@Bourdain
about me, but damn, I loved him. The books. The shows. That shit eating grin. The trips I planned and parts of the world he introduced me to. The world is going to miss out on more of him.
My neighbors just group emailed our condo board to ask them to give our on-site cleaning crew the day off tomorrow and still pay them. It's approved and they are letting them know so they don't have to brave coming in. Love this street.
YOU GUYS. I started out this summer bummed that I didn't have any big travel plans this year (for good reason, using that $ to grow the business.) But, affordable options materialized and I'm now super stoked about the rest of the year. It's not Italy, but it's gonna be great.
I just saw a guy in a suit at 8:37am and thought, wow, that’s weird.
What’s weird is that that’s weird. I live in frigging Washington, DC. Suits are the uniform. Were.
So fascinated with how this pandemic is breaking what was and creating something new. That part’s not bad.
Merry Christmas to all of my friends on Twitter… the new, the OGs, the ones I know IRL and the ones I never will. Hope y’all are having a good holiday week.
Happy 10th birthday to the best decision I’ve ever made, adopting Ike.
Today’s gonna involve scrambled eggs, laying in front of a space heater and walks in a ridiculous wool sweater. Him, not me.
Also, should I open a wine bar in
#ClevelandPark
? Asking bc that CalTort space is coming back on the market and it has that fab side patio. And there aren't any wine lists in our little two block village that I love. I want to curate my owwwwwn.
Would it be weird if I cried in my Biden off boarding session because this is the most goddamned nice, thoughtful, caring campaign. I didn’t know it was possible to have a campaign environment like this.
My neighborhood in DC is about to hit the 500th night of pulling together for an outdoor drink and song. We started during the first pandemic shutdown, and it’s become one of the most special things. Lmk if you want to cover it
