This Steam message for an EVN Developer that got denied (taken from Reddit)
This is the most overt I've seen Steam against being against the VN thing of "high school setting but lying about legal age + lewd"
As thanks for me almost at Twitter 1000 Followers and YouTube 3000 subs I'm gonna do a STEAM VN GIVEAWAY of 4 of my favorite visual novels: Majikoi, Bokuten, Symphonic Rain, and Making Lovers. Just Retweet and reply with ONE of the 4 that interests you AND why.
Will DM in a week
Visual Novel Opinion of the Day:
I've personally been disappointed many people aren't willing to pay full price for VNs despite them being longer on average than games, movies, or anime. Doubly so if you keep asking for more translations but dont help out yourself.
#angepinion
If you follow vndb's top rated visual novels rankings, you'll notice that Steins;Gate is
#1
and Muv-Luv Alternative was
#2
. This is a
#shorts
story to explain a little more of what really happened.
It's been a while since I've done a visual novel publisher history retrospective video. This time I'm going to do
@shiravune
: a relatively newer publisher with quite the catalogue. Thanks to TheLocalWeeb for editing!
Ange’s Visual Novel of the Day: Katawa Shoujo
Many Many people's first visual novel. While it wasn't my first I still saw the people with the handicapped setting. Hard to go back to since it has no voice acting, but it still has decently memorable themes.
#angevns
A visual novel that:
-is an all time favourite
-is underrated
-everyone likes but you don't
-you recently liked
While I’ve actually never read Euphoria, it’s definitely not my type of visual novel.
For the first time in my 15 year Visual Novel Reading Career, I can FINALLY announce I got the privilege of being a PAID QA Tester for NUKITASHI 2.
I've always wanted to be a Game Tester, so testing the sequel to a top 3 favorite Visual Novel was a treat.
Video Review Soon!
Visual Novel Opinion of the Day:
One of my long running vndb complaints is how crappy their UI looks. I get there's a lot of info on here but there's gotta be some way to improve it so it doesnt look like a product of the early 2000s? More people may use it.
#angepinion
Visual Novel Opinion of the Day:
I know Japan simps for high school and all but can we make it so 90+% of visual novels are NOT high school anymore? At least 3-5 good college or adult age non-nukige a year would be a great improvement!

4 Visual Novels Ange Is Eagerly Waiting for the English Translation to Release [Part 4]
*Secret Agent of the Knight Academy
*Mysteries of the Heart: The Psychic Detective Case Files
*Kakenuke Seishun Sparkign
* Floral Flowlove
#VisualNovel
#Eroge
Ange’s Visual Novel of the Day: Amairo Islenauts
A (currently) untranslated Yuzusoft visual novel. The floating island in the sky setting is interesting. However I was not a fan of teacher protag / student heroines thing. I basically only read for Shirley.
#angevns
Katawa Shoujo was many people's gateway into the visual novel medium. Helps that it's 100% free. I actually read it after reading many other JP VNs but still enjoyed it. The drama and characters sometimes felt more genuine and realistic than many JP VNs. Emi best girl.
Ange’s Visual Novel of the Day: Fureraba
I'm glad this was Nekonyan's first visual novel release. It introduced me to SMEE's token hilarious quirky humor style with some likable heroines. The hangout choice system is kinda weird, glad they ditched that.
#angevns
Visual Novel Opinion of the Day:
Believe it or not even I can think Slice of life can be too slow and boring. If there's no good comedy, they go too detailed on day to day events, or the characters themselves being dull can make me super bored.
#angepinion
Ange’s Visual Novel of the Day: Princess Evangile
A mostly well done moege set in an all-girls rich Catholic school. It got a bit melodramatic at times but I liked the main character having to work up to being more liked. The main heroines were mostly likable.
#angevns
I've seen various 'What Your Favorite X Says About You' videos. I figured I tried my hand at a visual novel character version. 50 Visual Novel Heroines; If you're a fan of any of these, expect to potentially get roasted.
You ever wondered why we still have a lot of visual novels without translations? Based on talks with people in the industry, watching the community, and analysis, here are 7 reasons why we don't have MORE VN translations:
Ange’s Visual Novel of the Day: Majikoi (original)
I could gush about this visual novel all day. The friendship themes, the unique hilarious comedy, crafty protagonist, having both quality and quantity of characters, action scenes actually done well, etc.
#angevns
Visual Novel Opinion of the Day:
I made the Visual Novel Monthly Recap because it's frustrating to find good compiled Visual Novel News. Twitter moves too fast, Reddit topics get pushed down, not everyone likes Discord, e-mails and blogs don't have good visibility.
#angepinion
I have been putting this off for too long
I finally upgraded my Galaxy S9 to a Google Pixel 7 Pro
Seems nice so far but there's a lot of little differences I'm getting used to
Visual Novels may be a niche medium, but there's actually a solid amount of VN YouTubers who make good content and/or are successful. In this video I wanted to highlight a variety of what I consider 40 notable Visual Novel-related YouTube channels.
Every so once in a while I reminiscence and am thankful I've been/will be part of QA/QC/Testing of visual novel translations
It's my real life job and being able to provide that to my favorite fictional medium always feels good (as long as I like the VN)
Ange’s Visual Novel of the Day: Aokana (original)
Some of the best presentation I've seen in a visual novel. The sprites, backgrounds, and CGs are all drawn excellently. Flying Circus is a fun unique sport, and all 4 main heroines are likable or something going on.
#angevns
Ange’s Visual Novel of the Day: If My Heart Had Wings
I will always have nostalgia for taking part of the QC for the 18+ retranslation. But that aside the excellent wholesome romance and character development helps makes this one of my favorite VNs ever.
#angevns
My updated 4 favorite sprites in visual novels
* Mashiro (Making Lovers)
* Misaki (Nukitashi)
* Ayame (SukiSuki/If You Love Me Than Say So)
* Miyako (Majikoi)
4 Visual Novels That are announced but NOT even released in Japan that Ange is looking forward to
*Tsukihime -The other side of red garden-
*Ao no Kanata no Four Rhythm - If 01 - Minamo Shirase
*GINKA
*Tenshi☆Souzou RE-BOOT!

#Eroge
I will say I stand happily corrected about the Chaos;head Noah Unban, Congrats to you guys who want to read on Steam. Especially who probably want to read the retranslation patch.
I think some visual novels which SHOULD be masterpieces end up at least partially brought down by being too long and in turn bad pacing. In this video I want to show what I consider good and bad pacing in visual novels.
Visual Novel Opinion of the Day:
As much as I like the VN medium, if a good/servicable anime adaptation of it exists I'm very open to just only experiencing that. Just having the animation and faster pacing helps a lot. More Omnibus Anime Adaptations please!
#angepinion
Ange’s Visual Novel of the Day: Sabbat of the Witch
Probably my overall fav Yuzusoft VN to date. Despite being moege this has drama that hits pretty well in almost every route. It says something when main girl gets a very rare type of route.
#angevns
@KamehaCon
@Rialisms
@DocsComicsGames
Make sure for future voice actors who break the contract of not showing up due to reasons like these that they actually have to pay you or do something and have them walk all over you.
I don't want any fuckers telling me I'm 'exaggerating' when Yuzusoft heroines love calling the MC a pervert way too many times. I have the mathematical proof through the convenient Nekonyan search
In Senren Banka they do it a bit less, but that's the only exception I'll give.
I'm excited to finally have the "meta" VN with a moege premise about developing a visual novel.
I know there have been others like Eroge (Clockup nukige) and that drama heavy untranslated one.
But this title seems the one I'll like most since it's the most down to earth.
Not going to lie every translation sneak peek of this upcoming Yuzusoft
This little sister is going to be the new poster child of the humor I hate from Yuzusoft
Didn't think Meguru would be beaten
Ange’s Visual Novel of the Day: Senren Banka
A kinda interesting blend of moege with a classic JP setting and supernatural action. All the characters are decently likable. Not a bad first Yuzusoft visual novel for a newcomer especially since it's HD.

About to get (left) brachial plexus nerve decompression / neurolysis surgery:
Hoping it fixes the left hand tingling and pain.
Praying it goes well, if it does, right brachial plexus for right hand next month.
Ange’s Visual Novel of the Day: Bokuten
My fav utsuge. Has one of my favorite protagonists with character development, a very engaging chapter based common route, and some unique themes. It gets a bit too edgey at times which makes it not quite perfection.
#angevns
Visual Novel Opinion of the Day:
Random Moege Developer Mini-Awards: Asa Project has my favorite humor, Yuzusoft has the best overall presentation, Marmalade most likable set of heroines. SMEE might be my favorite overall, well-rounded in all of the above.
#angepinion
This is just to put it out there, but a small group I'm part of has been doing a fan-translation for A Sky Full of Stars: Interstellar Focus, and I am QC for it, currently 100% TL.
We would like a Hacker/Programmer and ideally a Image Editor, if you're interested plz DM me!

There's a new and improved version of Textractor and Sugoi Translator known as Luna Hook and Luna Translator respectively. This video is a tutorial how to use the Lunas to help you Learn Read Japanese through Visual Novels... or use Machine Translation.
Ange's Visual Novel -> Anime of the Day: Amagami SS
One of the most underrated anime due its omnibus format. Doing universe resets for heroine routes is genius, and romance anime adaptations not doing this is a crime. Helps the characters are good.

Got my first YouTube Payment through Google Adsense. Aka this was purely through Watch Time by fans.
Thanks to all who continue to support my Visual Novel YouTube Content through watching. Didn't need any unironic money/like/subscribe begging either!
Ange’s Visual Novel of the Day: Totono / You and Me and Her A Love Story
Aka "DDLC but better". That said the comparison is only on certain aspects and not as a whole. Totono has the unncessary Nitroplus edge but makes up with really interesting meta storytelling.
#angevns
When I was paying at a local ice cream shop the cashier saw my shirt and talked how she likes KEY games
We talked briefly about a certain death in Air, how she read the Air vn for more details from anime and her fav is Rewrite
Pleasant surprise to see more VN fans in the flesh
Almost every beginner visual novel guide has story, gameplay, and western original visual novels. What about for people who want to try that slice of life genre? In this video, I'll provide 10 moege options for those new to the genre.
Ange’s Visual Novel of the Day: Sankaku Ren'ai
Probably still my favorite Asa Project title. An otaku club slice of life in VNs is surprisingly rare and this VN does it great. Everyone being nerds and hilariously savage made me love this VN.
#angevns
Normally I'd only recommend fandiscs to the biggest fans of the original VN. But there are some that work for more broader fans. In this video, I bring up 10 Notable Visual Novel Fandiscs I think most people should consider Reading.
I previously made a tutorial on Erogamescape, aka Japan's version of vndb. I'm going to take things to the next level and show the Japanese fanbase's visual novel opinions: The top 5 rated visual novels for 30 of the most popular VN developers on EGS.
Ayyy holy shit woke up to this let's fucking goooo!
Thank you to everyone who continues to watch and enjoy my Visual Novel YouTube Content.
Looks like there is a process before I actually get money, which is hopefully soon.
Ange’s Visual Novel of the Day: A Sky Full of Stars Interstellar Focus
My current favorite fandisc. A route where the madmen somehow made a childhood friend 3some romance actually work and feel relatively realistic. Liked the love given to side characters.
#angevns
I asked Dan Salvato directly if he knew/read Totono/YOU and ME and HER before DDLC
He claims during development someone showed him THE SCENE, but it wasn't a direct influence to making DDLC. He thought the coincidence was amusing at least.
Ange’s Visual Novel of the Day: Rewrite Oka-ken Idols
The slice of life spinoff I didn't know I needed. Turning the 'tsundere hitting' trope into a 'payback' plot point was amusing. Rewrite comedy done well, and for all his fans this was written by Ryuukishi07.
#angevns
My personal Visual Novel Community Discord is now exactly 1 year old since it opened publicly.
Surprised it how active it still is.
Some rules have been added and users come and go since the inception, but the core is the same.
If you wanna join:
What if I told you, that in most visual novels you do NOT need to force yourself to read all routes? In this video, I'm going to provide arguments and examples of why I now believe this.
Ange’s Visual Novel of the Day: Koisuru Natsu no Last Resort
A very chill slice of life with a unique setting. Having a few college+ age characters was nice. Might be bland compared to lots of moege these days but I enjoyed at the time.

Problem with suing is money. Sadly, most visual novel publishers probably don't have the right amount of funds to actually fight against Steam a legal battle
A AAA game company would need to do this but those aren't ever going to get banned
