He made sure the boy was safe and held his hand to reassure him and return him to his frantic mother. The mother was grateful to him for his help as she was worried her son would run into traffic. Adults stood by and did nothing to help her which distressed her too.

The drama unfolded when the student realised something was wrong when he heard a woman screaming for help obviously distressed.Her autistic teenage son had bolted from her. He asked the woman if she needed help and when she said yes, he took off after the runaway boy.

Today was a bittersweet day. Baptista would have been 16 today if his life had not been so tragically cut short back in October in Stratford. Baptista's family & a small group of his Year 11 classmates gathered in Mr McCormack’s office to remember Baptista on this poignant day.

LONDON LANDMARKS HALF MARATHON FOR CARITAS ANCHOR HOUSE Mr Lewis and former student James Mackay were part of the team from Newham Deanery who raised nearly £3.5k for Caritas Anchor House today. Both runners got new Personal Bests finishing in 1:48 and 1:39 respectively.
