My grandad came home tonight 😭 He contracted COVID in hospital, but despite being nearly 84 and having been in and out of hospital the past two years with infections, he’s pulled through it, is off oxygen and back home for Xmas. Long road ahead but so, so grateful ❤️

The Mr & Mrs Smith show is SO good. Smart, cool, funny, sexy, constantly playing with structure, pulls off totally convincing relationship drama *and* big spy action goodness. Donald Glover and Maya Erskine both excellent. Highly recommend!

Rewatched Atonement for the first time in ages, and had forgotten just how much of a masterpiece it is. Seeing it in the cinema at 15, and furiously reading the reviews after, really helped spark my love of film and writing about it. That heat, those blue eyes, that green dress.

The distinct mediocrity of Lightyear makes it even more enraging that Turning Red didn’t get a cinematic release, and its tenuous relationship to existing IP all the more cynical. If you fancy watching an animated movie this weekend, you can find Turning Red on Disney+ 👍🏻
