This season has been unreal already. Yesterday our snowfall levels surpassed our full-season average of 250 inches - and it’s only January 11! It’s shaping up to be one of the snowiest winters in recorded history:

As anticipated - wind, rain, and snow are impacting operations today. 111 MPH gusts were recorded at the top of Tamarack this morning. We have seen approximately 4" of snow at 9000' so far and snow levels seem to be hovering around 8500'.
Alright, alright, we heard you... we’re extending this ski + ride season, and will be staying open through May 7! Thank you to the ENTIRE Heavenly team for keeping up with all of the storms so we can keep sliding around on snow. Let’s keep the good times rolling! 🎉 ⛷️ 🏂 ❄️
We are excited to announce that Saturday, December 11th is our opening day! Temperatures have been steadily dropping and our snowmakers have been working around the clock to prepare the resort for opening. We look forward to welcoming you back for another awesome season!

We’re grateful to share we have not found any direct fire damage to critical infrastructure at Heavenly at this time. Thanks to the efforts of those on the ground, the winter downhill trails and features, resort lodges, equipment, chairlifts, the tram & gondola all remain intact.

Mountain ops is hard at work and we plan to start loading lifts at 10am. We received over 36” of snow overnight and it’s still coming down! This means we have good news…Canyon Chair will be opening today with more terrain on the way!
With over a foot on the mountain and still going, it’s definitely turned to full on winter in Tahoe. Opening day is 11/20 so get your Epic Pass today for early season access.

As expected, this latest atmospheric river has created major challenges for our resort, employees, and community - as a result we will be CLOSED tomorrow: Saturday, March 11. Read more below, and thanks for your understanding.
Due to ongoing risk of wildfire to the Tahoe Region, Heavenly is now closed for summer. We thank our guests and staff for a great summer and now turn our attention to winter. We’ll be ready when the snow flies and look forward to welcoming you back for the 2021/22 winter season.

Our team worked tirelessly through difficult conditions and power outages to get you some good skiing and we are beyond thankful for them! We expect to be back to normal operations tomorrow - that includes upper mountain lifts, and connection between California and Nevada.

Take a look at the view from the top of the Dipper Express Chairlift this morning! These 5 inches of fresh snow are making the season feel even closer. Today we mark one month away from opening day on Friday, Nov. 19!
Wind was a challenge again today. When we place lifts on wind hold, it is always for the safety of our guests and employees. Here is what conditions were like on Dipper this morning:
10:43 | MOUNTAIN UPDATE: Heavenly will be CLOSED for the day. Multiple power lines down on the mountain. Crews on mountain continuing snow mitigation work. We are working with the utility companies to fix power issues as well. NV and Gondola may be closed tomorrow as well.
Another 15” in the last 24 hrs. The unreal February continues and our awesome mountain crews are expecting to get you slashing pow on time this morning. If you are traveling, please be careful, check road conditions before you go, and take it slow.

We may have just finished shoveling, but we’re ready for the snow to fall again! The countdown has already begun, and we’re fired up to announce that our target opening day at Heavenly for the 2023-2024 ski + ride season is slated for November 17, conditions allowing!
