If things had gone to plan, Jon Jacobo—a San Francisco housing director & once-rising star in local politics—would be running for supervisor. But in 2021, a woman accused him of rape.
@SFstandard
has since learned 3 other women filed police reports. 🧵
In police reports & interviews, the women detailed allegations against Jacobo which ranged from stalking, threats & domestic violence to sexual assault & rape.
But police never charged Jacobo & the women say his political connections may have shielded him from accountability.
One woman dated Jacobo for years starting in 2015.
Jacobo allegedly stalked, harassed & choked her on multiple occasions. In drunken fits of rage, she said, Jacobo destroyed her property.
“I thought about moving to another country just to escape him,” she said.
Another woman accused Jacobo of raping her in 2018 after he went to her apartment. She said she told him “no” many times before giving up in a state of fear.
“I had to do what you do when it’s survival,” she said.
A friend of the woman confirmed hearing the story days later.
A 3rd woman accused Jacobo of sexual assault in 2016.
In one instance, he allegedly snuck into her bed naked & climbed on top of her.
In another, Jacobo allegedly tried to take advantage of the woman when she was unconscious. A friend told The Standard she stopped Jacobo.
All 3 women say they agonized for years on how to seek justice. They say Jacobo’s ties to
@TODCOGroup
& former Supervisor
@JaneKim
may have insulated him from accountability.
They also question how thoroughly
@SFPD
investigated.
Jacobo didn’t respond to requests for comment.
All 3 women say Sasha Perigo—who publicly accused Jacobo of rape in 2021—inspired them to go to police.
Perigo didn’t press charges at the time, but she told
@Josh_Koehn
she is now reconsidering that decision.
“I think there are legitimate public safety issues to consider.” 🧵
It appears that 2 government officials —
@Jon_Jacobo
and
@lopez4schools
— took a trip to Santa Cruz together in direct violation of San Francisco’s Stay Home Order. Furthermore, unless they live together, it is illegal for them to come within 6 feet of each other.

If things had gone to plans, Jon Jacabo and Gabriela Lopez would both be on track to be Supervisors. Jon even paid a visit to BOE for public comment. One can connect the dots.
@sfstandard
I'm glad to see that Jon Jacobo has stepped down from his political ambitions following the serious accusations made against him. It's important for those in positions of power to be held accountable for their actions.
