Huge congratulations to Caitlin Summers who has been selected for the Lancashire Under 11s squad and in doing so becomes the first girl or woman at Sefton to represent the county!
An historic day as Sefton PFXI becomes the first senior Sefton side to include two women today.
An impressive result too as Riz Shah smashed 101* in Sefton's 192-4d before James Milburn (4-14), Sidney James (2-2) and Andy Fallows (2-14) combined to dismiss St Helens Town for 33.
Nice moment as the umpires take to the field for the inaugural (we think) umpiring of a 1st XI Saturday league game at Sefton Park by a female umpire 🏏💚
@lpoolcomp
@HT_Hurricanes
Sefton bowl out Wigan for 120 at Bull Hey.
Rob Houghton finishes with 8-48 from 24.1 overs, the second best figures in his Sefton career, after taking his 1,000th
@lpoolcomp
league wicket for the club earlier in the afternoon.
Unbelievable effort today & since his debut in 1990!
Congratulations to Sarah John who hit the first ever century for Sefton Women in the Lancashire 40 Over game at Blackpool on Sunday!
Sarah scored 100* in Sefton's 161-6 as the hosts won by 18 runs.
💯🏏
We couldn't open the pavilion on the first day of the 1985 season either - but for slightly different reasons.
35 years ago we still had cricket despite the pavilion having been gutted by fire.

10 years ago today we lost Alex Miller, who died by suicide
So many memories come back of his unique presence

You may have noticed our sign at the park entrance to Croxteth Drive has had a refurb! Massive thanks to Harry, Steve and The Colonel for their help with this…
Thanks for the shout out Daggers
@SkyCricket

Very sad to hear the news that Danny Wright has passed away.
During his time at Sefton he was a dedicated 5th XI captain, passionate about his cricket but above all a lovely man.
Thoughts with his family at this time.
Well done to
@LukeConnolly12
who wins player of the week for his 111 v
@AinsdaleCC
to help the 2nd XI to the next round of the Chester Cup.
This century also took him past 3000 runs for the club
Very pleased to see Kemar Smith, our overseas player from Barbados, arrive safely.
Looking forward to seeing him on the field when his quarantine ends.
🇧🇧 🏏
We are sorry to report former Sefton batsman John Crapper has passed away.
A technically good & gritty bat, John played 1XI & 2XI in late 70s & 80s; difficult to get out when set as exemplified by a fine 75* against a
@CBHCC
attack including Winston Benjamin on a wet Sefton track
All the best to
@JimmyDicko1986
who travels to Australia later this week for the Commonwealth Bank International Cricket Inclusion Championships. The series includes 5 T20s and 5 ODIs 🏏
After 18 years of extremely loyal service as 1st XI Score,
@DavidSm23856700
has announced that today would be his last game. Him and Graham have been excellent servants to the club and he will be sorely missed. Cheers Dave!
The club's new net facility will be opened tomorrow evening at 7pm.
Ted Williams will be officially unveiling the nets as this has been his long-term ambition.
Every member young, old, present or former is welcome to come along to celebrate this new facility and/or for a net!
Sefton close an unquestionably difficult season with defeat at Formby.
Formby 245-2d
Sefton 132
Many years hard work by a lot of people to get there and, well, let's say the year off didn't help.
It might not be an immediate reply but we'll be back,

We're delighted to welcome leg-spinner Raheem Kasser to Sefton.
Raheem joins Sefton from Accrington CC eager for the challenge of playing ECB Premier League cricket and we look forward to welcoming him to Croxteth Drive in the spring.
Today we will be sharing a thread of twelve tweets showing some of the many milestones in Ted's playing career.
Starting at 10am with his 1st XI debut in 1961...
Congratulations to Rob Houghton on being named
@lpoolcomp
Division One Player of the Month sponsored by

for August/September after taking 28 wickets including hauls of 8-48, 5-12 and 5-72.
@houghtonrm
Everyone at the club would like to send their deepest sympathies to Andy and Scott Aitchison following the death of their brother Danny in a tragic road incident last week. RIP Danny.
Leo Spilsbury takes the hat-trick to win the game for Sefton!
Lytham bowled out for 78 as Sefton defend 114!
Leo finishes with 4-16 after Jimmy Dixon took 3-41 and Huzaifa Zubair 3-20.
Sefton's innings was reliant on George Lee's 34 before Sam Parkinson (25) nursed the tail.
Richie's replacement as club captain is
@JimmyDicko1986
a key figure in 2019's promotion and with previous
@lpoolcomp
experience with
@SNBCC
&
@FBCC1833
Good luck, Jimmy! We're right behind you.
Five out of five!
Sefton 1XI beat Liverpool by 3 wickets

Top work lads!
This Sunday Sefton are proud to once again host the England Physical Disability XI. Two T20 games with the first starting at 11am. Head down to Croxteth Drive to see some amazing athletes in action:
Sefton beat Formby by two wickets in a tense finish at Croxteth Drive to claim a first win of the season.
Formby 233-7d (48 overs; Brown 118, Ellis 39; Kasser 3-59, Zubair 2-26)
Sefton 234-8 (59.4 overs; Smith 90, Zubair 47, Aitchison 43; Humayan 4-48, Ellis 2-50)
Brilliant to see over 80 juniors back out training on the grounds at Sefton yesterday evening.
If you (or your son or daughter) would like to give cricket a go, please get in touch!
Fantastic news as Sefton Womens' Aaishah Amjad is selected by the ECB as one of just five people to take part in an exclusive filmmaking course "First Run: BFI Filmmaking and Production for Sports".
Congratulations Aaishah!
It is with great sadness we lost Andy Godden this morning. He passed away peacefully surrounded by those he loved.
If we hold on to even a small amount of his courage & strength we will be better for it
Andy you have and will always be loved; thank you for coming into our lives x
Congratulations to Leo Spilsbury who has been picked to play in the

1972:
In his first season as captain Ted led Sefton to a second
@lpoolcomp
title.
The side were undefeated across the season and are regarded as one of the finest in the history of the comp.
On Bank Holiday Monday 2 May Sefton will host the second annual Dunkley-Williams Trophy in honour of two incredible servants to their clubs: David Dunkley of Liverpool and Sefton's Ted Williams who we sadly lost in 2020.
11am: Women's T20
2.30pm: Senior T20
BBQ through the day
Congratulations to Caitlin Summers who travelled to Durham with

U13s over the weekend. Opening the bowling, Caitlin took 3/4 off 5.3 overs as Durham were bowled out for 98. She then came in at no.10 with Lancs 63/8 and hit 19no as the Red Rose won by 1 wicket!

scoring 19 and taking a catch to help Sefton to a 43 run win.
His final first team captain was Ben Moore, last batting partner Paul Squires and his concluding catch off Phil Calrow.
Jimmy Dixon's 7-24 did the damage as Sefton bowled out Highfield for 63 today; Huzaifa Zubair supported with 2-16.
Chris Bellis scored 28 and Paul Horton 22* as Sefton won by seven wickets.
The first of four wins for the club today - it feels good to be back!
