Further to Brad Rawiller news from yesterday. He will relocate to WA for immediate future.
"I would dearly love to establish myself in Perth riding ranks and move the family across in the New Year.
I am extremely focused and serious about the move West." He said in a statement.
Respect Tony greatly but until the Everest attracts 100,000 people on course, can be staged weekday on a public holiday and have the majority of the country stop for 2 min to watch A horse race it's the Melbourne Cup for me.
Tony McEvoy made the comment yesterday that The Everest has surpassed The Melbourne Cup as the biggest race in Australia.
Which race do you think is the biggest in Australia?
Gut wrenching for Dan and Ben Pearce. She was suffering mild colic on and off since Monday and under surgery they discovered an inoperable growth. 6 wins and 11 placings from 21 starts and a touch over $800,000 in prize money and bonuses. Quality mare. RIP.
After 39 years veteran broadcaster Dave Sheehan has decided to hang up his binoculars. Well played Dave on a terrific calling career. Kalgoorlie and Esperance won't sound the same. You go out on top!

1/2 Our thoughts and prayers go out to jockey Damian Miller who was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer earlier in the week. For the moment he plans to continue riding but understands there will be a period of absence in coming months.
Pike v Parnhan yesterday in Cup elite. Even more so was how the victor post race didn't oversell the win. Humble, gracious and respectful. Class.

A bittersweet day for Perth owner Wally Daly after unfortunately losing gun 2YO Brave Halo who had to be humanely euthanised. The colt never recovered from a hind leg wound sustained in the Blue Diamond Stakes in Melbourne. A classy winner in 3 of 5 career starts.
Thoughts go out to Barry Newnham and Peta Edwards after King Blitz was euthanized this morning after fracturing off hind leg at trials. The 7YO won 6 races from 14 starts including his last victory in the Diggers Cup in April. The gelding meant the world to them.
You can’t underestimate Prince Turbo’s win and the tireless work of Jason Miller to get him back after two year injury lay-off. By any definition a racing and sporting fairytale. Both horse and trainer deserve every accolade that comes their way.

A shout out to popular strapper and all round good bloke Tim Paris who has his first ever proper share in a horse running at Belmont on Wednesday. Snippillicious, a 2YO, trained by Adam Durrant and to be ridden by Jade McNaught, debuts. Good Luck Tim!

STEVE PARNHAM update: Steven has fractured clavicle, and three ribs, and small thoracic spine fractures, will be out of action for at least three-four weeks and probably longer Gerard Taylor will see him Friday morning
Good luck to all racing participants today. Trainers, jockeys, strappers, stable staff, everyone who contributes to this amazing industry and sport. It’s Perth’s time to shine. Enjoy, stay safe and let’s celebrate the wonderful equine athletes who put on the show!

After a successful application to obtain new visa star Mauritian-born rider Laqdar Ramoly has officially completed his apprenticeship and will classed as a senior rider from Monday.
Enjoy the trip home Willie. Thank you for sharing your wonderful insights and allowing us all on social media to have glimpse into your Melbourne adventure. 👏👏👏👏
WHAT A RIDE IT’S BEEN 👏 For one last time William Pike checks in as he leaves Flemington on Oaks Day. He’ll be back in Perth tomorrow, and back in the saddle Railway Stakes Day.
Achernar Star has been retired. A wonderfully consistent horse who won Bunbury Stakes and Grandstand Cup. He also placed in nine feature races including a 3rd in Kingston Town.
SIMON MILLER update on Amelia’s Jewel:
“Bloods have revealed all is normal, but she’s not great or breathing fire and still off her feed. Light week ahead and hopefully she bounces back. Nominated for Winterbottom and Gold Rush as back up if she returns home.”
Pat Carbery’s last 6 months: Kingston Town, Ted Van Heemst, Perth Cup, Karrakatta, Gimcrack, Fairetha, Lee Steere Classic, Detonator, Bunbury Cup, Supremacy, Roberts Stakes and Jericho Cup qualifier.

From a distance my reflections on Kyra was her positivity, she never sulked or sought excuses, had an incredible work ethic and earned respect from her peers. She is a role model not just in racing but sport generally. Last but not least the loving support of her family.
This is a truly remarkable effort from Kyra Yuill & her team. More winners in the last 9 months than last 4 seasons combined & 2nd to Pike in jocks prem. So much success as an apprentice & then the injuries, lost form & being banished to bush meets. Extraordinary resurgence.
A family tradition continues with Zephen Johnston-Porter receiving his license to ride today. Brother of Clint Johnston Porter, the 17-year-old is indentured to top trainer Adam Durrant. Learned judges say he has a bright future ahead of him.

Another Wolfe enters WA training ranks this afternoon at Mt Barker. Good luck to Tom Wolfe who saddles his first runner in Garage Days. Previously worked for Luke Fernie and stable foreman for his uncle Steve Wolfe’s Perth stables.
Ryan Hill has retired from racing and will transition to training. 479 career wins including 3 features: THe Miss Andretti, Melvista Stakes and Detonator Stakes. Best season 2015-16 with 60 wins. Good luck in your next career phase, Ryan.

Adam Durrant: the Country Cups king. Bunbury Cup, Boulder Cup, Northam Cup, Kalgoorlie Cup, Pinjarra Cup, Geraldton Cup, Broome Cup, Albany Cup and now Esperance Cup.
Brad Rawiller is taking an indefinite break from riding in Perth. Further opportunities in Sydney but has not ruled out returning to WA. Made big impact in his two years in Perth, 10 stakes wins including Winterbottom with Elite Street.
Congratulations to Melbourne apprentice Tayla Childs. She’s off and running in Perth after booting home first winner on Digital Miss at Pinjarra.

It’s game on for Amelia’s Jewel after a Flemington gallop this morning. According to Simon Miller she worked unreal, went super and looks amazing. Went the Sydney way with Damian Lane aboard and was very professional. Will lob in Sydney on eve of Golden Eagle on November 4.
Neville Parnam confirms Kay Cee to be retired after Railway. Bows out on a low note but a great career with G1 Kingston Town Classic her peak. Congratulations to Neville and Steven Parnham on their work with the Playing God mare.

The future of WA racing in good hands with next generation coming through. Luke Fernie one of the brightest sparks to hit WA racing in a number of years. Steeped in bloodlines but gifted horseman.
Great news for Clint Johnston-Porter today. He has been given a medical clearance to commence riding track work again. Comeback in sight after injury earlier in year.

In the aftermath of Amelia's Jewel's Let's Elope victory, owner-breeder Peter Walsh was gracious and humble in dedicating the win to strapper, Siobhan O'Donnell.
Dan and Ben Pearce considered bringing across an eastern states jockey to ride Let’s Galahvant at 54kg in Hannans but turned to Natasha Faithfull because of her top form and record at Kalgoorlie and because of exorbitant airline prices.
