I’ll never get over how Chris Yost managed to turn Kaine, the evil 90s Spider-Man clone, into the single funniest Marvel character. The guy just wants to be a brooding loner but just can’t stop being a beloved super hero with a loving found family who won’t leave him alone.
There’s a running gag in X-Men: First Class that whenever any of the O5 needed spending money, they’d just grab it from a pile of cash on Warren’s dresser
I know people aggressively ship Kaine and Flash Thompson but that has never moved me. Kaine and Vance though? Is it gay to fly into a rage when you think the guy you’ve “hated” for 11 issues has been killed?
In this EXCITING NEW ERA with varied premises such as:
Rogue leading a team of hated and feared outlaw X-Men in New Orleans!
Cyclops leading a team of hated and feared outlaw X-Men in Alaska!
Kate leading a team of hated and feared outlaw X-Men in Chicago!
@Wanderoveryond
That Ben run happened a little after which is important because Kaine was spending that entire run in Vegas as well trying to murder Ben for the shit he pulled during Clone Conspiracy
Always wild to me when people talk about Emma like she went straight from Claremont Hellfire Club to her “redemption” under Morrison like the entirety of Generation X didn’t happen. Morrison didn’t redeem her, she’d long been out of her villain era at that point
@GalasStorms
@mathmothmath
Important bit of context: the doctor is the villain of this story arc, having worked with the alien with the blade to create a “cure” for mutants
I know people aggressively ship Kaine and Flash Thompson but that has never moved me. Kaine and Vance though? Is it gay to fly into a rage when you think the guy you’ve “hated” for 11 issues has been killed?
Anyways, here’s Ultimate Storm, currently appearing in Ultimate Black Panther, and here’s Peach Momoko’s previous adaptation of Storm from her Demon Days stories, a Momoko painting of Storm, and a Momoko of Ultimate Storm. Enjoy!
Claremont will have Kitty being held by the butchest haircut-having Rachel in their shared one bed studio loft apartment in the gayest scene possible and then immediately follow that up by reminding you that his intended soulmate for Kitty is Moira’s grandfather who died in WWII
Things we know about DeMayo (all old news):
- Left twitter after being called out for whitewashing Sunspot & making weirdly racist arguments defending it
- Had been fired from Netflix for being abusive towards staff
- Made biphobic & homophobic comments to former coworker

Today’s Marvel Meow Infinity Comic is a cute story about Sabretooth bonding with Gambit’s cats, y’know, the same three cats whose first appearance was when Sabretooth had intended to eat them

Her mother’s gang’s legitimate cover was as an opera company so their stage makeup became their calling card. When Kyoshi fell in with the gang, she adopted the stage makeup look with it.
The fact that Eva, the oldest and most over it of the Five with the biggest anti-Xavier chip on her shoulder, wasn’t a bigger part of the Five’s splitting from the Quiet Council, is a real crime
@Citizen_Kryptik
@3dog_reilly
I mean, I doubt he (or the writer) know anything about the actual process but, in the context of the story, he’s just having the priest do it
I get what you’re saying but I think that’s the point. Having an origin that isn’t particularly notable allowed so much more exploration of Kamala’s other character traits. X-Men are my favorite but being a mutant tends to overshadow characters’ race, religion, etc. in stories
I think people are more upset over MCU synergy striking again than the actual change, tbh being Inhuman isn’t doing anything for Kamala, let’s not act like it’s a big deal. Kamala does more for the Inhumans (brand) than they do for her

They also depicted depression not as another feeling but as a failure in the system which I thought was really smart. Depicting Anxiety as just another emotion really undercuts that
As scholar Margaret Galvan notes: “Fighting against expectations, Pryde extends the field of what powerful superheroines look and act like.” That she did so from a position of prominence, and that it worked so well, serves as testament to the character’s legacy. 10/10

What horseshit. Ever since I've known Iceman, he's had a thing for ladies. The most notable before I dropped out of comics was Polaris.

The X-Men were never about weird, perverted, sexual fetishes. Stop confusing that as progressive it’s just fucking perversion.
I love how

pretty much universally agrees that Dani Moonstar should be on the Quiet Council.
Every time there’s a prompt of “who do you think should replace/join/would be on your Council?”, 95% of the responses include Dani.

Sadly, the thing I’m always going to remember Krakoa for is missed potential. When it started, it was fresh, new, full of possibilities, but then, when they decided they weren’t going to keep it, they just gave up. They showed us all the flaws but never let us see them fixed.

My favorite part of this scene has always been that, when we see Rachel get off the plane, she is wearing her uniform meaning she changed into that fur bikini FOR Kitty. Only to find her with her her ex-boyfriend. Devastating.
Gorgon accidentally petrifying himself and then his dead, stone self just being carried around and included in all the group shots is very funny

How I justify Rachel’s straight relationships (beyond just compulsory heterosexuality):
- Franklin: Post-Apocalyptic Trauma Bonding
- Korvus: Korvus is a closeted trans woman and only Rachel knew
- Sublime: All that one-sided sexual tension with Storm had to go somewhere
Rasputin IV is a perfect example of why, when creating a character, you have to worry about the person before, or at least simultaneously to, the design and powers.

The headpiece is also part of the opera company look. Her tunic is also notable because it’s a formal earth kingdom dress secretly lined with chainmail from a meeting with pirates before she even knew she was the avatar
I hate doing this but I have a shocking number of mutuals with these accounts calling a trans lesbian a rapist for *checks notes* saying two adult women, who’ve been a popular ship since the 70s, should kiss. This who y’all want to interact with?
@HeavyMetalSlug
It is something Claremont wrote, like three times in the 80s. That’s the problem. It’s nothing new, we’re just returning to safe, worn out stories. It’s boring.
Like most Spider-Woman fans, I find Jessica being consistently lumped in with the Spider-Family a bit annoying since she barely knows most those people. That said, I do believe there’s a ton of potential in a Jessica Drew-Kaine Parker friendship.
@kurtsbf
@CallMiBHam
The only exceptions for me are Xavier, who I maintain a professional distance by only using his last name, and Storm, because I feel like I need permission before I can call her Ororo
The funniest thing about Zero, the mutant from Generation Hope who’s gonna be in Dark X-Men, is how difficult it is to explain his powers depending entirely on whether the other person has seen Akira
How do you think Eva Bell feels about being part of The Five, in charge of mutant resurrection, but unable to bring back her husband and daughter from a lost timeline she lived in?
#XSpoilers
I love Emma and think her redemption (which started with Generation X, not New X-Men) has been well deserved but if Storm never wants to be friends with her, it’s well deserved.
Not morally bad but would be to Disney and/or some fans if, again, it wasn’t old news:
- Has an Onlyfans
- Liked a lot of gay porn on social media
- trashed a lot of fan favorite stories and characters including, but not limited to, Emma Frost, Magneto, Krakoa, Maggott, etc
