I know Haikyuu’s later character designs aren’t for everybody, but it’s a shame some people dismiss Furudate as an artist. I’m not saying this just bc I’m a fan, but HQ has some of the best panelling I’ve seen in a manga, combined with some very unorthodox sfx work & perspectives

Japanese creators really need to start picking a different color as the title for their series. Blue Period, Blue Giant, Blue Lock, Blue Box, Blue Orchestra, Blue Sky Complex, Blue Thermal, Blue Exorcist, etc. Then there’s also Ao Ashi (Blue Feet) & Ao no Miburo (Blue Wolves) 😭

I know A Silent Voice, Horimiya & Kaguya-sama are constantly mistaken for shojo series but shout out to, in my opinion, the best overlooked fake shojo to exist. Shikimori is not just a cutie is so charming & fluffy, the anime does it no justice. For fans of Ottomen & Horimiya.

Notice how the trajectory of the ball guides your eyes, so it’s easy to follow. The way the panels, speech bubbles & sfx are laid out also helps. I’ve talked before about how some battle manga are hard to follow because there’s too much happening & no direction to the motion.

I think part of the reason why I'm dislike people calling Yona a reverse harem is because it'd mean putting Hak, Yun & the dragons as love rivals and that cheapens their relationship. One of the things I love about YOTD is how well the bond among the male characters is crafted.

I've heard complaints about the lack of female characters & their portrayal in sports series. I suggest looking into art manga (both performance & visual arts) as an alternative. They have the spirit of sports series, but offer a more level playing field for female characters.

I've heard some people complain about how they felt disappointed by The Summer Hikaru Died because it wasn't as scary as they thought. And here's the thing, not every horror series has to make you scream or traumatize you. Hikaru is more uncanny than terrifying.

Say what you want about Blue Flag, the art is still some of the best I’ve seen to date. The transition from the cartoony chibi style to the more realistic art when things get serious is phenomenal. KAITO is a master at conveying emotions.

Canis is pretty popularbut still does not get the recognition deserves imo. Some of the BEST art in ALL of manga. Everything from the panel lay out, the artstyle to the coloring. You can tell ZAKK's interest in fashion just from the clothes & how they fit the characters alone.

I started Akane Banashi yesterday (curently at chapter 55) & it's FANTASTIC. I love everyone so much, Akane is my beautiful & talented daughter. Hikaru is great too, people compare the Akane-Hikaru dynamic to Act Age's Yonagi-Chiyoko, but they're much more interesting imo.

Front-facing perspectives, like how you’re looking directly into a camera can block your comprehension of motion depending on what the action is. Anyways, Ik they’re awkward at some angles, like this one. But like, legit some of these angles are very hard to imagine & draw.

I was curious about this manga since it won first place in Kono Manga Ga Sugoi! for the female demographic. If you look up the English name literally no results whatsoever. The art’s super unique & stylized, but liking what I see. Huge fan of this setting obviously

Does anyone remember The World Is Still Beautiful? There was an anime a while back, same year as Yona. Same studio too. I loved the manga so much. Now this one definitely has no hope of getting licensed. Not popular PLUS there's an age gap (she's 17 & he's 12).
