it sucks that there's this common belief that you have to be good at a hobby to justify spending your time on it. I think we could all benefit from doing more stuff that we're maybe kind of bad at
"what if a DEMOCRAT is accused next" is such a weak gotcha. literally what makes you think I wouldn't want them kicked down from their position and thrown into a ditch too
Perhaps this is not a very nice thing to say, but I hope the people in charge of these decisions one day experience every ounce of the collective fear and helplessness that they inflict on the millions of people less fortunate than them without ever blinking an eye.
it's been said a million times but man, I'm sad that so many people still consider hyper-realism the pinnacle / end goal of all forms of visual art. the greatest art style is just whichever style best elevates your material and the themes you're trying to convey.
it is really something that for years we asked, "what will nature do when we're gone?" only to have the answer apparently be monkey wars and deer mobilizing to look for crackers
frankly astounding how long it took me to realize that "I saw mommy kissing santa claus" was implying that the kid's dad was dressed for the part and not that his mom was having an affair with santa claus
drawing from memory makes you realize that you've never truly looked at the majority of things you encounter in your day-to-day life, and I don't mean that in any kind of poetic way, I mean I just had to go take like eight reference pictures of a door frame
my favorite four things I drew in 2017! I feel like I didn't complete as many illustrations as I have in past years, but I think I like each one more than I usually do...!!
when people try to say "how does anyone listen to vocaloid music, it sounds so bad" like. do you think I care what this sounds like. len just disguised himself and was executed in rin's place. have some respect
I want to personally thank every hair stylist who has ever been handed a screencap of an anime character as reference who then proceeded to just, do their best
it feels like just a couple of years ago my siblings and I were watching the adventure time pilot episode; I can't believe it's coming to an end!! I got to do this cover for the comic series a while back and even now it's one of my favorite pieces :')
me age 11: I only want to make cat girl and angel / devil characters

me age 26: I only want to make cat girl and angel / devil characters
remembering the first time a non-american was shocked to hear that most of our classrooms have a US flag and all students are expected to stand up, put their hand on their heart, and pledge allegiance to that flag every day and i had to be like wait. that IS weird. holy shit
i keep forgetting there are ppl who like...seek out and buy Purebred Cats.....like you do you I just rly assumed every cat owner was at some point going about their normal catless life when some horrible little gremlin of questionable origin decided to hurl itself into their path
