I'm only really realizing it now but the three months we had last year where we could go into the office every few days and see friends for coffee and lunch and after-work hangs was ... blissful 💔

Biden arrives in Cambodia tmr to meet with ASEAN & high on the agenda is the surge in airstrikes in Myanmar. As @RapporteurUn points out, weapons being used to kill in Ukraine come from the same place as those in Myanmar — Russia. New w/ @cape_diamond :

This was one of the first stories I pitched when I got my job. The end product, with the full weight of the Post's resources across graphics, design, data and photo, is astounding to me. Closely edited by @AlanSipress , @vanessahlarson and many others.

I called Pastor DeWitt this morning (he was delivering food donations with his son), and he said after this story went live, the nursing home got so many donations, its site briefly crashed. He spent last night reading the comments, but had to stop midway because he was crying.

Pastor DeWitt gave me the answer like he was saying his last name or the color of the room; like it was a fact—plain and understood. “We knew that when the virus came, we had to take care of ourselves, because no one else would.”

Before this, Goodman was outside, facing off against rioters, his friends said. In the video of him that went viral, he's panting through his mask because he had already been running around for ages, trying to defend the Capitol.

Officer Eugene Goodman in a full sprint, directing Senator Mitt Romney away from the danger and on his way to facing the danger himself. Wow.

The city has been tested so many times this past year. This is the Capitol, four days after it was attacked. Kids are tacking up homemade signs. A pair of gray-haired women told the Guardsmen on duty to stay safe and said they’d pray for them.
