A throwback piece from my my Resonance series since this is how I’m feeling after seeing what’s going on. A lot of people don’t know this but this piece is about silent rage. You may think I’m weak and vulnerable. Well you are wrong.
-There’s a kind of rage that burns underwater

third week challenge. Inspired by lines from the HBO show Chernobyl.
“...You are not you anymore. You’ll never be you again. But then you wake up the next morning and you are still you. And you realize...that was you all along. You just didn’t know.”

challenge, the theme is Beauty.
The disturbingly beautiful cherry blossom gets its color from the corpse buried underneath.

I'm glad to hear this one, "Devil's Tattoo", got into Infected By Art Vol 11 this year! This was done for

I always have dreamed working with

and last year she matched me with such an inspiring story by

Anything Resembling Love. This is one of the rare commercial opportunities that I felt I was allowed to be myself as an artist completely. I’m ready to retire 😳
This week's

is from "Pet Sematary". They say cats have nine lives, and I have the sparkly acrylic to have fun with, so here we go. 9 simmering metallic paint eyed cat.

Working on a new piece. Sometimes I wonder if I should keep the initial drawing as it is. Though it’s tempting the whole point of this process is to cover up and seal the initial thoughts, finding the right balance between telling and not telling.

Hi I’m Reiko, Japanese American concept artist and illustrator. I work on video games and cover illustrations. I love working on eerie subjects.
Since I got permission...I can finally say that I'm working for
@DCComics
as the cover artist for
@joe_hill
's Basketful of Heads. It's amazing to be working with AD

, Mark and Joe! ✨
The retrospective of 2021. After 16 months, I’m finally back to full steam in business. (Sorry to all the ADs I had to decline the opportunity this past months. It broke my heart to say no to your projects!) With this year’s Month of Fear challenge 1/2
Surprised to find “Stain” got into IBA7 this year! This year my approach in making art was different than usual, so I wouldn’t have been surprised not to get in at all. Thank you so much to all the judges. Here’s the additional WIP shots.
This drawing “Voice” found a new home over last weekend at

I’m incredibly honored that this cover for

@JohnJosephAdams
for the opportunity, and of course, to all the judges for acceptance.
I’m grateful and honored to learn this piece has been accepted to

Soon after my child was born my mother called me and said “it’s time to stop doing scary art and start painting more normal stuff for the sake of your child”
mmm…nah
I think this one was made for World Fantasy Con when I was GoH. I wanted to make a piece about one’s obsession for social acceptance and self consciousness via appearance
