It's crazy that no animation director has ever been nominated for best director. You literally have to keep all the balls in the air for years directing an animated film.
This tweet isn't really talking about the movies themselves but the business decision to premiere them at Cannes. You don't need to tell me Cannes crowds are snooty. That's part of what makes this decision interesting
Animation is not a genre. Animation is not a genre. Animation is not a genre. Animation is not a genre. Animation is not a genre. Animation is not a genre. Animation is not a genre. Animation is not a genre. Animation is not a genre. Animation is not a genre
@scott_kernen
But nevertheless Disney had such confidence in both that they thought the artistic crowd of Cannes would receive them well and they weee wrong which is interesting
Please stop giving Disney progressive points for blink and you miss it LGBTQ characters who can be easily changed for Chinese markets because they make no impact on the plot
Critics are literally providing a public service to help you wade through the insane amount of content provided out there. They aren't the enemy. Most of us are stupidly poor. Dont listen to us if you don't want to but also don't expect us to be your yes men for what you like
Salaar: Part One Ceasefire- the action is big and wild and very bloody! Prabhas is a titan. Sometimes the subtitles went very fast and the shifting timelines were a little confusing and I missed music of other Bollywood epics but the experience is epic and fun
@disnerdpodcast
But theoretically Disney should know that making their decision to premiere there confusing. The point of my tweet was not really about the movies but the business decision
YMS is not a critic. Heβs an entertainer. If you find his shtick entertaining than great. I find it obnoxious. Donβt look to him for actual criticism. Iβm not surprised at all he doesnβt finish movies. No actual critic that takes their job seriously would do that
I would like to remind people that over 2/3rds of critics recommended Green Book. The way people talk on this app you'd think everyone hated it. Not the case
This is beyond stupid. She actively wanted to kiss him. He held back because they had just met and the song is trying to move things along so she doesn't die. There's nothing insensitive about this π
The Little Mermaid director Rob Marshall explains why the live-action film reworked the lyrics to "Kiss the Girl": "Itβs important to remember that the culture and sensitivities have changed over the last 34 years."
Timmy Failure: Mistakes were Made- this movie was so cute. I loved Timmy and his dry honest style. It was completely charming but then had deeper themes like kids dealing with loneliness and feeling different. A gem

I had been having such a hard time with my breathing so I decided to go to instacare. They were so alarmed to my surprise they recommended I go to the ER. Will keep you posted
I survived another year on this insane planet. 41. I'm older than my Mom was when I went away to college...wow. Still I'm one of the few people I know who really loves their life and is happy
The idea that The Last Duel bombing is some kind of rejection of original cinema is idiotic. Maybe people don't want to see a long medieval epic about rape? Shocking I know
For the people in the back. Trigger warnings are not sanitizing anything. They are simply helping audience members be prepared. If you were about to eat very spicy food wouldn't you want a warning to be prepared? It's no different
βI worry sometimes that weβre moving towards a sanitised version of everythingβ
Actor Matt Smith says theatre should βshockβ people and that βone of the great things about Doctor Who was that you scared children, but in a controlled wayβ

I dont think the Disney live action films are made for "a new generation". They are made for the same generation to milk nostalgia. If they were made for children the toys wouldnt almost immediately revert back to originals
I've now seen WONKA twice and enjoyed it. One thing that baffles me is people that love this but thought THE GREATEST SHOWMAN was trash. I feel like they are practically the same movie...
Today I'm seeing the sequel to the movie that caused me major trauma. I debated about seeing it but I'm not letting the terrorists win on this one. Screw them. I'll say what I think and not be stopped
I'm just glad if Barbie does well maybe Hollywood will start realizing they can make movies for women and not every movie has to appeal to 17 year old boys...
