Over the last two years, when I asked people in Africa or India or Pakistan or Gulf why they were not joining Europe to stop a genocide in Ukraine the answer was: “Because next time there is a genocide outside Europe, Europeans and Ukrainians will do nothing or even cheer for it”

I understand completely that Turkey must vote out Erdogan, who's concentrated too much power in his own hands, and has savagely attacked the media, to avoid becoming an autocracy. But the opposition (that western journalists call liberal) is a greater threat to Syrian refugees.

Russia and China (genocidal states both) are winning big propaganda victories simply by not supporting the genocide of the Palestinians. The west is giving them this victory by showing the world how little it cares for international law and non-white lives.

Israel has killed more Palestinian children in a week than Russia has killed Ukrainian children in a year and a half. The west is (rightly) outraged by Russia's behaviour, but supports Israel absolutely.

The genocide of Palestinians is by far the worst thing the west has done in half a century. It changes everything. But please don't say it's the first genocide 'in our lifetimes'. Genocides of Syrians, Rohingyas, Tigrayans are happening now. Don't erase them.

Russia vetoed all criticism of/ action against Assad. The US vetoes all criticism of/ action against Israel. As far as the Arabs are concerned, both are genocidal imperialist powers. We won't begin to be free until they and their tools are expelled from our region.

The veto was expected, but what adds insult to injury was the body language: how he brusquely raised his hand & leaned back. We’ve all seen it. The hubristic swagger of a bully who knows he’s wrong but will violently persist b/c he’d rather burn it all down than be accountable.

Yeah, fuck Corbyn. He said the genocide of Kosovar Muslims 'never happened', supported Milosevic over the Bosnian Muslims, and propagandised for Assad and Russia as they murdered hundreds of thousands of Syrians. He's an enemy of the Arabs and Muslims.

Corbyn, while hypocritically calling for a ceasefire in Gaza, supports Assad’s slaughter of the Syrian people. Always astonishing how minds can be so twisted, but not infrequent esp with Syria X Palestine. And adding Ukraine to the moral integrity test results in very few people.

Same disease afflicts those who believe the Russian and Iranian ravaging of Syria and mass murder and expulsion of Sunni Muslims is ... erm.... anti-imperialist because the US isn't involved. This binarism (if not US, then good) has destroyed the left and curses many Muslims too.
