I love how you can actually see Hobie stealing every single piece of tech for the dimension watch he makes for Gwen
Hobie is the MVP of Across the Spider-Verse
These concept suits for Across the Spider-Verse are actually what I want Milesโ suit to look like in Beyond.
A mix of his comic suit, his Into the Spider-Verse suit and his Across the Spider-Verse suit.
I don't know how to describe it but the glitch effect of Spider-Verse is one of the most visually pleasing effects ever.
It just has so much character and there are so many color, shape and texture contrasts going on. So satisfying to look at.
"Saving my boyfriend" was created by Spider-Gwen.
Spider-Gwen added Peter B.
Spider-Gwen added Hobie.
Spider-Gwen added Pavitr.
Spider-Gwen added Margo.
Spider-Gwen added Noir.
Spider-Gwen added Peni.
Spider-Gwen added Ham.
"I kinda messed up guys๐๐."
BEYOND THE SPIDER-VERSE:
- Last movie of the trilogy
- Satisfying conclusion to Miles and Gwenโs story
- As emotional as the last 2 movies
- Miles wants to redeem Earth 42
- Gwen Variants will appear
- Spot becomes "The Abyss"
- Beginning and Ending already written
Miles will save Gwen while Miles G. will save Jeff.
Miles saving Gwen from the death that so many Gwens have experienced.
Miles G. saving Jeff after not having the chance to save his own Jeff.
It's almost too poetic and too fitting.
That is what I think the 2-Cake-Theory could end up being in Beyond the Spider-Verse.
You can have your cake and eat it too: If you bake two cakes.
In this case: If you have 2 Miles Morales.
ATSV plays with the importance of being able to choose between 2 things.
That theme is present all throughout the movie.
-Miles balancing his life as Spider-Man and Miles
-Pav trying to save Gayatri and her dad
-Miles having to choose between his dad and the multiverse
Everyone keeps telling Miles he has to choose one or the other.
"Can't have your cake and eat it too."
"You have the choice to save one person or the entire world."
"You can't have it all kid."
Miles' answer:
"I can do both!"
The 2 cakes in the beginning of the movie are symbolizing that concept.
Miles tries to do both (deliver both cakes) and it ends with both cakes destroyed. The message here seems to be in line with Miguels.
"You can't have it all."
Early in the movie when Miles' counselor says that he can't have his cake and eat it too, Miles responds with the solution to the problem the entire Spider-Verse is facing.
"Unless you bake 2 cakes."
And this is where the 2-Cake-Theory comes in:
Following the theme of ATSV, I predict that sometime in Beyond the Spider-Verse Miles will have to choose between these 2 things:
Saving his dad or saving Gwen.
Miles can do both, but only with a little help.
By looking at Gwen you can see what an absolutely amazing job the animators did at portraying different emotions. It really helps you to symphathize with Gwen and understand her perspective.

Today are the Oscars!
Spider-Verse is nominated for Best Animated Feature.
All fingers crossed that it wins, just like ITSV did.
Every single person involved in this movie absolutely deserves it! โค๏ธ
Peter from Earth 1610 warned Goblin that the collider could open up a black hole under the city
A black hole opens up under the city after Spot uses the collider on Earth 50101
The universe where Miguel took the place of his variant got destroyed via glitching
Miles was right
Remember: Itโs confirmed by the writers and producers that Miles and Gwen share some kind of special connection across dimensions.
I hope this gets explored in Beyond the Spider-Verse!
A concept thats kinda too good not to use, at least for one poster, is Miles and Miles Gโs faces split by the web of the 42 spider webbing itself down.
Similar to this:
The song in the background is called "Ansiedades".
The lyrics when Gwen is leaving is "Dale, quรฉdate un ratito mรกs" which translates to "Come on, stay a little longer".
Reminder that Gwen tried to keep Miles away from the Spider-Society because she thought that would save him from the pain of finding out about Canon.
Everything she did she did because she thought it would spare Miles from pain.
She only had his best interest at heart.
Thinking about how Gwen was basically testing the waters here. She tells Miles how she feels but shows that she is hesitant to commit since she is afraid of the outcome. Only after Miles reassures her she decides to lean on him.
This ending had me so hyped that I could have continued sitting in that theater for another 4 hours to witness the conclusion
Beyond the Spider-Verse can't come soon enough โค๏ธ
Spider-Verse shines most in its quiet, personal and emotional bits.
So many action set pieces of the highest animated quality yet this quiet moment between Miles and Gwen is the best in the movie, by far.
Thats what sets Spider-Verse apart from the rest.
Thats why I love it.
Remember all the concept art of Miles & Gwen dimension hopping and fleeing Miguel together?
What if that isnโt part of the earlier story that was cut? What if those scenes are part of Beyond?
Remember, ATSV and BTSV were originally ONE movie before they got split into two parts
Hobie is such a goated character
- Helps Miles because he doesn't believe in the Spider-Society/establishment
- Looks out for Gwen while she is homeless in the Spider-Society
- Helps Gwen to right her wrongs by building a new dimension watch for her
- Ships Miles and Gwen ๐ญ
Reminder that "Calling" from the Spider-Verse soundtrack is the last song that plays in the credits and describes Gwens POV after the events of the movie.
