COVID-19 deaths have declined in Democratic congressional districts since mid-April, but remained relatively steady in districts controlled by Republicans.
Nearly nine-in-ten Black adults say policing (87%), the courts and judicial process (86%), and the prison system (86%) require major changes or need to be completely rebuilt for Black people to be treated fairly.

Most black (83%), Asian (73%) and Hispanic (65%) Americans say they’ve experienced discrimination or have been treated unfairly by police because of their race or ethnicity, either regularly or from time to time.
The 2020 election will mark the first time that Hispanics will be the largest racial or ethnic minority group in the electorate, accounting for just over 13% of eligible voters – slightly more than blacks.
As of Feb. 1, Black women have accounted for around a quarter (24%) of President Joe Biden’s appointed judges – far higher than the percentages for any other president, including Barack Obama (8%) and Bill Clinton (4%).
The share of Republicans who say presidents could operate more effectively if they did not have to worry so much about Congress and the courts increased 16 percentage points over the past year, from 27% in March 2018 to 43% this past July.
Most Republicans want to see their party move in a more conservative direction. 53% of Democrats want the party to move in a more moderate direction while 40% favor a more liberal direction.

90% of Democrats who have heard something about QAnon say it’s at least somewhat bad for the country, including 77% saying it’s very bad. 41% of Republicans who are familiar with QAnon say it’s somewhat or very good for the country.
