Many Bramptonians come from farming families in India & it's been stressful for them to see reaction to the peaceful

I hope for a peaceful resolution as farmers continue to exercise their democratic rights.
I had a very nice chat with

Canada ranks near the bottom of OECD countries when it comes to hospital beds per capita. For context, we had 90% of hospitals beds in use in Canada before the pandemic even started. Why are we not having a national conversation on the inadequacies of our healthcare capacity?
I was out for a walk with Theo & he was pretty upset that playgrounds are closed. His dad agrees.
I will be consulting City Council & our solicitor on whether we can legally decline a provincial order.
The medical advice has been clear that outdoor recreation should stay open.
Outdoor sports should be allowed. I realize I am a broken record on this topic but it is worth repeating the science table never recommended closing outdoor amenities.
I have not heard single doctor ask for outdoor amenities to be closed.

GG & I are overjoyed to welcome into the world our baby daughter Savannah Francesca Brown.
She was born at 6:08 pm tonight at

Don’t close elementary schools.
Vaccinate educators.
Close Amazon.
Close Food Processing Plants.
Close Busy Big Box Stores.
Close Crowded Factories.
And if our supply chain can’t handle it then vaccinate essential workers.
Same old approach isn’t working.

City Council has unanimously passed a motion calling on the federal government to require international student visas to include a housing address consistent with local by laws as a component of the approvals process.

We lost two more great small businesses over the last week. Lockdowns have real consequences.
Hospitalizations at
#Brampton
Civic are down dramatically this week from 110 to 70
#COVID19
patients.
The reopening schedule is too slow. It’s time reopen fully our small businesses.
If schools are being closed because they are a
#COVID19
risk then why are we not vaccinating educators during this multi week closure. Currently, they are slated for June. This makes no sense. Vaccinate educators NOW so that we can reopen schools.

Busy crowded factories are a

challenge. An airport with loose restrictions is a problem.
But golf, tennis, cricket, basketball, baseball, soccer and other outdoor sports are NOT the problem.
Safe outdoor sports are good for physical health and mental health!
This type of hate has no place in Canada. We are proud in

Here is Pat King, a leader of the convoy

King dives head first into the Great Replacement/white genocide myth. It's all a conspiracy, see. Because whites have "the strongest bloodlines."
He calls it the "anglo-saxon replacement" so antifa can't get mad at him.
Who is behind it? Muslims and the UN. /2

Religious freedom should never be diminished anywhere in the world. Canada must always be a voice for religious freedom. Everyone deserves the dignity to worship without fear of violence or intimidation.
Mosques were attacked, cars and shops were lit on fire, and many acts of intimidation were carried out against Muslim minority communities. Some even danced with swords outside of mosques and performed anti-Muslim chants.
My grandmother “nanny” Teresa Brown turned 107 today. The last year of social isolation in long term care has been really hard on her but she has been resilient. She has survived the Spanish flu, two World Wars, and now the Covid 19 pandemic. She really is remarkable.
There has been a lot of negativity the last few months. The

Well, here is some good news in a sea of adversity.
Theodore meets his little sister Savannah for the first time.

‘We have people terrified in our community’: Mayors of Brampton and Surrey, B.C., warn Ottawa over extortion wave hitting South Asian businesses via
@torontostar
A major lesson from the
#COVID19
pandemic is the inadequate state of healthcare in Canada. Our hospital capacity is constantly on the verge of being overwhelmed due to the fact we have among the lowest ICU capacity per capita in North America. What is the plan to fix this?
1,232 people are hospitalized with
#COVID19
. Please note that not all hospitals report on weekends.
There are 248 people are in ICU with COVID-19. The seven-day rolling average of COVID-19 related patients in ICU is 210.
There are 13,578 new cases of
#COVID19
.
We need to focus on the severity of
#Omicron
cases & not just case counts.
The hospital capacity at
#Brampton
Civic is strong. We are down to only 2 in ICU and only 20 in the hospital with
#COVID19
.
There is reason for cautious optimism and hopefully better days ahead in 2022!

Ontario’s enhanced restrictions were always intended to stop large gatherings where spread can happen.
Our regulations will be amended to allow playgrounds but gatherings outside will still be enforced. Play outside safely. Parents keep your distance & wear masks if you can’t.
