just talked to my dad. He is safe. He told me that 15 mins into his interview, Maduro stopped him & then forced him & his team into a dark room for 2.5 hours. He was then released without any of his belongings.

Short answer: Latinx community simply isn’t a monolith & it shouldn’t shock us to know that some voted for Trump. In FL, many Cuban Americans went to the polls for Trump driven by the trauma of socialism, which was fueled by a MASSIVE misinformation campaign led by the right.1)
