AI bros seem to be misunderstanding the point of Nightshade. No, we aren’t trying to somehow stuff poison in your AI model datasets ourselves. We poison our own work. And if YOU choose to scrape our work, YOU poison your own dataset. It’s a retaliation to you offending first.

9. I have talked to plenty of lawyers, none of them have any concerns about legality of me creating NS, or anyone using NS to protect their own art. Putting hot sauce in your lunch that is clearly labeled "DO NOT EAT/SCRAPE" does not make you liable when someone steals your food

Someone posted this in a digital artist group on Facebook. It’s ridiculous that these studios are trying to micromanage our creative process like this by requiring the use of exploitative tech.

You literally tried to tell us there was a Nightshade team member mole in your discord channel that somehow circumvented Nightshade (not released yet) by screenshotting a “nightshade pixel.” Your thoughts are just as valid as your credibility buddy

I want to live off of making games and art for as long as possible, but I feel like if I wanna buy a house or have kids or have enough for retirement one day I probably need to consider adjacent areas to pivot to just in case

Midjourney developers caught discussing laundering, and creating a database of Artists (who have been dehumanized to styles) to train Midjourney off of. This has been submitted into evidence for the lawsuit. Prompt engineers, your “skills” are not yours

I don’t have time to respond to every single point because it’s stuff our community has heard time and time again, so I’m just going to reiterate what’s most important. Just because GenAI is available to all creators does not make data scraping okay. We did not consent. (1/2)

We are all entitled to our own opinions and understanding so please know that I mean no disrespect in anyway. I disagree with your assessment though. Worth looking at how every new technology starts and disseminates through the general population. Eventually helping set a new…

“I’m not educated enough on this topic” is such a piss-poor excuse to be neutral in the midst of genocide when you have the internet at your fingertips. It’s not that you’re not educated, it’s that you refuse to educate yourself to justify staying neutral. Grow a spine.

Apparently there have been huge cuts going on at DreamWorks including my entire former department?? Part of a push to outsource everything and avoid dealing with the union?

The amount of genAI users who are viciously territorial over their prompts and images they can’t even copyright is next level hilarious. We are trying to keep WebGlaze invites exclusive to actual artists only, let me know if you’d like to try it. :) Still have a few left.

I’m confused why artists would want to use AI images as a live reference…why use something that is further removed from a photo reference or studying an artist’s original work?

@leslievdb In this case it actually does feel more like live reference than anything else.. Which is why you see me sticking pretty closely to the AI version. I've been drawing and painting all my life btw and for the last 20 years it's been my job as well, so even if I'm scared of the…

Before, I always liked the idea of technological innovation. But that’s because I was considering the possibilities of how it could benefit the working class. And yet, here we are. It’s being used to exploit us and then sold back to us marketed as productivity tools.

I’m glad ppl are reinforcing healthy work habits regarding getting a job in the game industry. I get you have to work hard to break in and possibly make sacrifices but idk…it’s weird how hard it is to break in when much of the pay and treatment is mediocre.

This is not to take away from the hard work & talent of teens & early 20 somethings! They’re amazing. But to break in the industry while you’ve been raising a family, working in customer service, dealing with adult trials & tribulations? Holy shit you’re amazing tell me more pls
