THE PARTITION SONG - From my incredible new show ‘I Can’t Believe it’s Not Ireland’ touring Ireland, the UK and beyond through 2024-2030! 😉
Head to for tickets and to for the full song! Also SUBSCRIBE so I can make 74c a month! 🤣
Did you catch the arrogance of the pinstriped FF-er flinging his crumpled clump of ringbound printouts at the man who wrote an actual BOOK on Housing? Same arrogance that sank the country for a decade? You should try it sometime... 😂

It’s the 225th anniversary of the 1798 rebellion. The Irish state should be commemorating this in massive, funded way - the United Irishmen are a signpost to the future and the unity of Protestant, Catholic and Dissenter. Instead we get…nothing. Make 2023 a year to remember.
RTÉ has the only purpose-built recording studio for orchestra in the country. Invaluable studios and spaces. Built and paid for in the 1960s. Solve things another way - don’t sell the family silver. These things are actually the hallmarks of ‘a state’. Or it’s just ‘a market’.
Michael Collins was in Sinn Fein. Not Cumann na nGael, or Fine Gael, or the Blueshirts.
WT Cosgrave was never ‘Taoiseach’. He was President of the Executive Council of the Irish Free State.
I’m going to have to spend all year at this, aren’t I? 😂

I know SOMETHING happened north of the border over the weekend. I’m sure of it. Some big political event or something. It can’t have been that important though because - for the life of me - I couldn’t find it on the front page of any southern Irish(ish) Sunday newspaper. 🤣🤣🤣
Two images from my show that illustrate that, of the 18 United Irishmen leaders in this picture, 12 were Protestant, 3 were Presbyterian and just 3 were Catholic! If Leo wants to learn more, he (and you) should get a ticket to my show on March 19th at ! 😂
On this day in 1798 Wolfe Tone died in this building, the Provost’s Prison, now part of the grounds of St Bricin’s military hospital. Like so much to do with 1798 there’s no plaque and the building is bricked up, but it’s amazing to think it still stands.
Lots of articles mentioning Thomas Kinsella’s ‘Butcher’s Dozen’ as if poets writing about Bloody Sunday was a normal everyday thing. Here’s words from the great man himself about what happened to his career after. Colonised minds then (as now) more upset by critique of Empire.
Theres’s a lot of ahistorical stuff on Twitter today that needs refuting.
Facts:
The Black + Tans were members of the RIC.
Auxiliaries were members of the RIC.
All of the above were at Croke Park 1920
The suggested commemoration Jan 2020 was to remember ALL RIC.

Shocked by the amount of unnecessary dereliction on Dublin Streets. The attack on Georgian Dublin is relentless. 80% of the Georgian, Queen Anne and Hanseatic city was destroyed between 1950 and 1980 and this is Aungier / Francis St now. All in the middle of a housing shortage.
I go through the ‘Treaty’ election (which was really an ‘end the war in 26 counties election) in my show ‘The Murder of Michael Collins’. Always remember -
1. 400,000 women in the south couldn’t vote because they were under 30
2. No-one in the North ever voted on partition.
Today (June 20) is Wolfe Tone’s birthday. Born 260 years ago, his ideas on independence, equality and neutrality have never been bettered. He is still a threat to tyranny. Take a visit to Bodenstown and come to one of my shows to learn more about him.
My satirical take on ‘revisionist’ (pro-colonial) Irish history! 😂 Taken from my new show 'The Second Murder of Wolfe Tone' which goes live at 8pm on Fri April 23rd - get your tickets at and you’ll immediately get a link to the 1st show...

Our population should be 20-30 million today. There was nothing natural about the disaster and the response was perverse. This is really well made and the music, photography and images put it up there with Ken Burns.
#TheHunger

‘Open to sale’. Tell me how his family acquired the biggest lake on the British Isles initially? Revisionist historians and apologetic politicians have a lot to answer for when someone thinks you can still ‘own’ a lake in the 21st century.
Look through the timeline of every single person criticising

for standing behind a banner people in 1590 A.D. would have taken for granted. Try and find an iota of the same level of vituperative angst at last week’s Bloody Sunday / Karen Bradley stuff. You won’t.
Both Bob Geldof and Aung San Suu Kyi have the Freedom of the City of London. How come Bob didn't fling his scroll back at London the way he did Dublin? And don't start saying 'it's his home town'. He's lived longer in London than Dublin. WYNI. 😂

I left flowers for Emmet. Napoleon thought he was a military genius and used his ideas. Pearse used them too and failed to get the numbers (we know why) - but the numbers will soon see his epitaph written.

. It’s not that Fianna Fáil / Fine Gael have ‘lost their way’ - they always represented an establishment that deliberately ignored the North. And I never knew ‘Men behind the Wire’ was banned!

Day 3 at Ballinamuck - what a fantastic event - especially moving yesterday was the presence of two Irish wolfhounds at the battlefield re-enactment. The passion and patriotism of the organisers and local people has been something to behold. See you 2.30pm for my Wolfe Tone show!
This is the horrible piece of crap that will be built on the rubble of existing historic buildings on Moore St if we don’t stop it. Dublin has suffered enough.
@MooreSt_Trust
Limerick does it again. Builds twice the height in what remains our most intact yet most endangered Georgian city. In an architectural conservation area no less. Never not at it.
PLEASE SIGN! Save our National 1798 Rebellion Centre from being sold off! It was purpose-built for €3m in 1998 as a permanent memorial and museum to this pivotal historical event. It belongs to everyone on the island of all traditions - petition here:
There have been some fabulous Irish ‘modern’ architects. Liam McCormick designed 7 churches in Donegal that reference the Landscape, Ancient structures and using suitable materials. It was and is a template for great Irish Architecture here and everywhere else.

At launch of the Battle of Ballinamuck 225th commemoration. As if on cue, Heather Humphreys brings up Scullabogue and Wexford Bridge, two rebel massacres of loyalists in 1798. No mention of Government massacres from Gibbet Rath to Killala to Ballinamuck itself. Same old story.
A GIG! Watch my brand new online show ‘The Murder of Wolfe Tone’ on Friday March 19th at 8pm - Tone is said to have committed suicide in his cell but this forensic, fascinating historical entertainment suggests a far darker story...get your tickets now at
If Ireland expels Russian diplomats from this country they are directly contravening our constitutional neutrality. 50 people in the smallest Minority Government in the last 96 years have no right to represent us in this way without explanation, reason or proof. 😡

The destruction of Dublin CAN be reversed - proven with Archer’s garage, ‘The Dead House’ on Ushers Quay and now these reconstructed houses on Dorset St. After years the plaque to Richard Brinsley Sheridan is back too. With roots in Cavan, RBS had a scandalous 1798 connection...
In June 1798 the battle of New Ross claimed as many lives as 9/11 or Pearl Harbour. It’s like Ireland’s Stalingrad, with snipers, house-to-house fighting and desperate tactics including the infamous cannon-disabling sacrifice... Pre-order my book here!
Lest we forget - just over 2 years ago FG had to abandon plans to commemorate the RIC, an organisation that included the Black and Tans, the Auxiliaries and the B Specials.
It was so crazy I had to do a song about it!! 😂

Great night in the Pearse Centre last night and doing it again tonight! It was fantastic having next Taoiseach in attendance on the centenary night. Go to for tickets for tonight’s show and others around the country.
So Bertie said Jeremy Corbyn is 'bonkers'? We are just about emerging from the disastrous, unregulated 10-year hole you dug us - but Corbyn is 'bonkers'. Thank you for your contribution - but we can do without you 'standing on the sidelines, cribbing and moaning' 😂😂😂
#marian
These seven idiots keep referring to Harold Wilson and how great he was. And then saying Corbyn has crazy ideas that would bankrupt the country.
The marginal tax rate under Harold Wilson was 83%. George Harrison wrote a song about it. Corbyn wants to raise wealth taxes by 5%.
Almost 5000 names - please sign! As a country, not an economy, you don’t sell off purpose-built museums because they aren’t ‘turning a profit’. This permanent 1798 memorial must stay - let’s show

‘Michael Collins did clerical jobs in London’ - the Taoiseach. Yes that’s true but he was also a super-spy for the IRB, marking and mixing in circles close to Lloyd George from 1910 when the Rising was a mere twinkle in Pearse’s eye. Read further and repeat after me - IRB. IRB.
A handwritten, newly discovered copy of Wolfe Tone's speech from the dock to be auctioned

next weekend. He united Protestant, Catholic+Dissenter under common name of Irishman+woman. I really hope it stays in the country+ goes on public show.
If what happened to Notre Dame happened to Christchurch or Cashel (which is still bizarrely roofless), Irish architects, arts critics and commentators would insist on a ‘contemporary’ replacement. It’s why Dublin is one of the ugliest cities on the planet. Replicate every stone.
We could all write one-sided listicles like that.
‘Up Nagasaki. Up Hiroshima. Up the firebombing of Tokyo.’
What did I leave out? Japan’s murderous invasion of Aisa. Nanking. Pearl Harbour. The death camps. The comfort women.
Context IS everything. Nice try, but up yours! 🤣
And I’d like to congratulate the people of Craigyhill on referencing the tradition of circular construction employed by the Northern Úi Néill at the height of the Gaelic Kingdoms in the sixth century. The most Irish and ancient of building forms, a truly unifying aesthetic! 😊
Did Michael Collins have a son and was knowledge of this used against him? In the intelligence war he waged - who were the spies, informers, enemies he kept close? Find out May 28th at 8pm (tickets will get you a link and you can watch any time after that)
Strabane once had an amazing canal basin that connected it to the Foyle. It also had a train station that was a hub for trains to Glenties, Burtonport, Inishowen and Derry. All of this was filled in, demolished, lifted and built over with tarmac, roundabouts and ASDA. Madness.
Thinking of a sketch where TV exists in the Free State in 1926 and every current affairs show hauls FF and CnaG politicians over the coals nightly. When the hosts ask them if they were in the IRA, they answer in unison ‘yes’ or ‘up until 3 years ago’ or ‘some of us still are’ 🤣

Had the joy of going on Seán and Colm’s epic 1798 tour yesterday - for the first time! If you haven’t done it - do it - epic - emotional - funny - romantic - and most of all - enlightening. The entries of Belfast came alive with the hopes of the past and for the future. So good.

Who lent the vastly overinflated money in the first place with no regulatory oversight? Who got bailed out and were restored to profit but pay no tax on those profits? Sorry lads - we’d all love a ‘new beginning’ but this is garbage. And wanting a fair system isn’t ‘populism’.
‘We have the luxury of geography’. This person seems to forget what being next door to the world’s biggest and most oppressive empire - the British one - meant we have a population of 6.5 million not 30 million. We were cannon fodder for armchair generals like him. You first.
I just looked into the new Napper Tandy bar on Baggot St! It’s a shrine to the United Irishmen!! YES!! THIS is where I shall perform ‘The 10 Dark Secrets of 1798’ in Dublin in 2019!! Watch this space...

On this day in 1862, Miles Byrne died in Paris, France.
A leader during the 1798 Rebellion. He then receives a commission in Napoleon’s Irish Legion, seeing action in the Low Countries, Spain and at the Battle of Leipzig.
En Garde.
Totally unnecessary dig at Mary Lou there by a simpering, frothing Royalist on the panel. She wasn’t ‘sucking a lemon’ when asked about the Royal Wedding - she answered it gracefully. Some of us accept there are medievalists among us and just carry on promoting modernity.
#Marian
The destruction of our historical buildings during the FF/FG ‘developer’ decades of the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s was a disgrace. Not only did they bulldoze Robert Emmet’s house, they bulldozed the church and graveyard in Aungier St where generations of Emmets were buried. Vandals.
The late great Éamonn MacThomáis talks about St.Stephen's Green in the late 70's.
Developers have since demolished the home & birthplace of the bold

Happy Easter all. Still can’t understand why Easter Mass gets to be on RTE One but the Rising Commemoration gets relegated to RTE News Now!! Reminds me of this painting by Sir John Lavery, 1922, ‘The Blessing of the Colours’ - the (Free) State kneels to the Church... 😂😂😂

I love how Finnerbots are having a day out ‘Feinsplaining’ me (new word) how Sinn Fein have no hereditary or dynastic or historic ‘roots’ traceable back to the ‘original’ SF.
(The whole fucking point of republicanism is to get rid of that elitist lineage-based bollocks) 😂😂😂
There are businesses in the country who don’t have rateable premises so they can’t avail of any business grant schemes. This is a major flaw in the system and a very 20th century idea of how service businesses work. The PUP isn’t enough. We’re running on fumes and need help now.
Mary Ann McCracken - sister of Henry Joy and one of the only United Irishwomen to be photographed. At 89 years of age she was still handing out anti-slavery leaflets to American travellers docked in Belfast harbour! Pre-order my book featuring her here..
The online meeting idea is great- to hear them talk about everyday issues in a calm way has actually been hugely reassuring in a time when we are all scared about the one thing. It made me feel like there’s a real world out there that we’ll get back to sometime. Make it weekly!
Save Moore Street. Even this government of differently capitalist political parties - must see the potential for an amazing historic quarter that remembers the foundational moment of their existence. Just do the right thing - we have enough hotels and offices.
#savemoorestreet
‘I hear you’re an RICist now father?’ 😂
Post-colonial self-loathing is done - nobody wants this kind of commemoration. The Black uniforms we see in ‘Black ‘47’ are RIC. The Black coats of the Black and Tans are RIC. But what’s with the Swastika??

The total disrespect for history in this part of the country revealed in the vandalisation of St Michan’s. Is it any wonder, seeing as we elevate only sneering, equivocal, condescending viewpoints of our national story, making nothing important enough to treasure?
