Here a short breakdown of the plant physics.
The spheres are joints connected with springs. Joint rotation is from the direction to its parent. The new resting point of a joint is found using the parents rotation.

I was asked how I made the fog for Ferocious. 90% is just
#HDRP
default volumetric fog fading into an overcast sky. But for that bit of extra texture, I place quads in the scene that play animated flipbook textures of smoke.

: "Influence maps" make the enemy

aware of the environment: Probes in the scene which are connected to their neighbours. In this example, the maps extrapolate the player position. This is used to find the best possible attack position.

: I use decal projectors a lot. On the left: the decal projector ionly writes to the normal channel to add wrinkles to the sand. On the right: Writing to normal and smoothness to create puddles.

The new health system differentiates between severe and mild injuries and has different heal animations for them. Healing requires a bandage. The player can also inject adrenaline to temporarily ease the effects of the wound.

Using some procedural generation really helps me with level design and even performance. I only spawn details around the player and move them if the player moves. This way the same objects can be used to populate the entire level.

: I get asked a lot how I make the FPS rig. I animate the full body, the camera is attached to the head. Each gun has its own invisible rig, parented to the camera. The bones of this rig are then retargeted to the body rig using IK.

A new level streaming system automatically fragments the worlds into chunks and lets me load them in and out using a brush. Simplifies workflow and improves both in-game and editor performance. Guess where I got the inspiration?
