We have noticed a dramatic increase in sewer blockages from customers flushing wet wipes. They are also damaging our equipment. Please only flush the 3p’s, pee, poo and toilet paper; everything else goes in the bin. This is causing a strain on resources in this difficult time.

🌱Lawns are great survivors.🌱 A sprinkler can use as much as 1,000 litres of clean drinking water in a single hour; more than a family of four would use in a whole day. Please help us conserve water so everyone has enough for essential use 🚰

We were delighted to welcome Infrastructure Minister Nichola Mallon to our Rathlin Island Water Treatment Facility last week. The team discussed the recent £1 million investment at the plant, as well as the recent success at the Institute of Water’s Innovation Awards.
Sara Venning, Chief Executive, NI Water, outlined the critical state of the utility in our Annual Integrated Report for 2019/20. “NI is the only region in the UK where the water utility is not funded to the levels required by its independent regulator."
