Portugal is currently getting 97% of its electricity from renewables, and it's exporting a lot of excess capacity to Spain. Wind is currently supplying 64% of Portugal's power. As a result, power prices are just €4/MWh at the moment.

South Africa has spent R230 billion on bailing out SOEs since 2013. This is basically money thrown away because of corruption and mismanagement. That's enough to build 4,600 quality schools (rough estimate based on Curro's capex) or 1.2 million RDP houses.

How's this for a record: Rooftop solar panels (on households and other buildings) met 78% of Western Australia's electricity demand during the day yesterday. Together with wind and grid-scale solar plants, renewables met 89% of power demand in the world's biggest isolated grid.

Regardless of who's behind the legal case, why would anyone oppose a court application that seeks to save the lives of tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, of innocent people who are being intentionally displaced, starved, and indiscriminately bombed?
