Today we opened the new Mpophomeni stadium. When we took government this project was short of R3.5 million. The construction site had been vandalized and there were serious challenges to get it open. We have worked hard to allocate resources and complete the stadium.

The uMngeni Municipality has just completed R1 million worth of high mast solar lighting at the Zuzokhuhle informal settlement. The lights aim to improve the safety of residents as well as to improve the quality of life. Not the ultimate end goal but a step to improve lives.

We proudly opened 2 cattle handling facilities today in Inguga and eMashingeni. The facilities which were fully funded by the uMngeni Municipality were built to help small scale farmers with animal care. Department of Agriculture vets were on hand to vaccinate animals.

Some light at the end of this tunnel. We have started doing some work on street lights in Eskom supply areas. Eskom abruptly stopped servicing street lights to save costs and then required us to get permits to work on their infrastructure. We have started making progress.
