I still laugh at the time when Scott Drew came into KU's locker room after a game to congratulate them and Svi turned to Lagerald Vick and asked "who was that?"
Snoop Dogg shooting a money gun at players, Nasty Dogg with a prop blunt, and stripper poles on a court named after the inventor of basketball. KU really doesn't give a f ck anymore and I'm here for it.
I don’t think it can be overstated that a team that played in the National Championship seven days ago offered Lance Leipold their coaching job and he’s like ‘Nah, I’m staying at KANSAS.’
I really hope this shot doesn’t get lost in the chaos of that 2nd half.
Remy is 6’0” on a good day. He hits this over Bacot who’s 6’10”
Absolutely filthy.
NCAA Tournament games where an opponent makes >10 3FGs and shoots 40% from three (since 2017):
Kansas: 5
Duke, Kentucky, North Carolina, Villanova, Gonzaga, and Michigan State combined: 5
After 10 minutes of intense deliberation, here is my definitive list of top-10 players in Kansas history:
1. Danny Manning
2. Wilt Chamberlain
3. Clyde Lovellette
4. Raef LaFrentz
5. Frank Mason
6. Darnell Valentine
7. Nick Collison
8. Paul Pierce
9. Ochai Agbaji
10. Jo Jo White
16-year-old kid moves halfway around the world to a country he's never lived in with a four year window to make it in the league or he probably goes home and never comes back. And he made it happen. One of my all-time favs.
If you're a KU fan, you get to celebrate something tonight that literally no fan in the history of college basketball has ever been able to celebrate. And if you ask me, that's pretty damn cool.
Doug Gottlieb was in Lawrence two years ago for Bill Self’s fantasy camp and hosted his show at our station. It was the week of the NFL draft and I asked him what he thought of the Chiefs picking Mahomes and all he said was, “Bad pick. Terrible footwork.”
The Chiefs had the ball at the CIN 39 with 2:22 left in the half.
They ran three plays for zero yards and burned 20 seconds of clock.
Time management: it matters!
Here's Gale Sayers statline from week 13 of his rookie season in 1965:
9 rushes, 113 yards, 4 TD
2 receptions, 89 yards, 1 TD
1 punt return TD
6 TDs on 11 offensive touches
Christian Braun absolutely took over the game for Kansas in the first four minutes of the 2nd half. Defensive glass, pushing the tempo, finishing inside... he was doing everything.
A lot of people forget that I have a Heisman vote. That’s fine. But remember this:
It’s becoming increasingly more difficult to not mention his name with Caleb Williams, C.J. Stroud, and the other blue-chip Heisman candidates.
few thoughts upon rewatch:
- Chuck laid out the blueprint for a KU comeback during halftime
- CB was the catalyst re: pushing tempo
- KU's defense was impeccable in 2nd half
- Remy = Randy Marsh balls in wheelbarrow.gif
Lmao buddy… you spent the last month spreading lies on message boards, got outed as being a fraud at worst and a lapdog for the program you cover at best. And now you’re taking a victory lap because your favorite team won?
FRAUD WATCH
No moral victories. No moving the goal posts. 3-game losing streaks are very uncool. But my college football team who has absolutely sucked ass for 12 years has given fans a reason to pay attention every Saturday this year. I’ll take it.
Jerome Tang ahead of the Sunflower Showdown:
"I know I'm going to upset some people. I feel like we, the Kansas State community and family, allow them to live rent free in our heads way too much."
For those watching at home, the guy calling the KU game is the Charlotte Hornets PxP guy, Eric Collins, and he might be the most electric broadcaster this side of Gus Johnson.
K-State should be mindful of the fact that things can always get worse. Every program is a bad hire away from becoming more irrelevant.
I am well-versed in this area. I am a fan of Kansas football
Bill Self went almost exclusively with a Harris-Yesufu-Braun-Wilson-Dave lineup in the 2nd half.
KU cut down turnovers, got a good look on every possession, and sat on a lead for 20 minutes. Awesome win.
Dave is getting rest. Remy is getting healthy. Mitch is playing the best ball of his career.
I'm not sure this Big 12 Tournament could be going any better for Kansas.
Bob Huggins just made a great point I’ve been saying for years... there’s absolutely no reason why officials shouldn’t have press conferences after the games. Only people who aren’t publicly held responsible.
Many hoped it would happen. Few expected it.
But I'll be damned if it doesn't feel like the Remy Martin coming out party is officially upon us. And it couldn't have come at a better time.
I didn’t think Kansas was a Final Four team but I thought they were better than *that*.
The end of that game was a microcosm of their season. Two scoring threats, one of whom disappears far too often.
