Israeli settler violence in the occupied West Bank is getting worse by the day. The UN says the number of attacks has risen sharply since 7th October. Many Palestinian villagers are now fleeing their homes for good as a result of threats against their land, and their lives…

Rights groups say Israel’s attacks on Gaza have emboldened settlers. In some villages, they have physically abused Palestinians, burned houses, slashed water tanks and power cables. Often, the Israeli army has even accompanied settlers as these acts of aggression are carried out.

For many in Amman - and across the globe - the protests we’re seeing are not about Hamas. They’re not an expression of indifference to the killing of Israeli civilians. They’re about solidarity with the Palestinian people + opposition to Israel’s devastating airstrikes on #Gaza .

I’ve lost count of the late nights my family and friends have spent watching bombs rain down on a region so dear to us. Waiting for news, disappointed by the lack of justice and action. Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Libya, Gaza...a familiar routine for so many diaspora families.

My heart is also with the Palestinian diaspora. Those feelings of watching your friends, family, and loved ones from afar endure all of this, the survivor’s guilt, wanting to do everything you can to help but knowing it’s never enough. I can empathize, they’re tough to process.

Troubling @Amnesty report on Iran: at least 23 children killed by security forces in September alone amid protests. The vast majority shot with live ammunition. The total number of children killed is unclear, but likely much higher as the regime’s deadly crackdown continues 🇮🇷

A sombre mood here in Berlin as the police investigation continues. More than a dozen people were injured - some seriously - and at least one person killed after a car drove into pedestrians on this busy high street earlier today.

The situation in NW #Syria is truly gut-wrenching. The international community has failed the Syrian people once again - more than a week on, little meaningful aid has arrived. Important reporting from my incredible colleagues @JomanaCNN @HubeLorenz @kareemJerusalem in Idlib.
