On International Nurses Day, I want to say thank you to our nurses who work so hard to care for those in need.   Today I'm thinking of my mum, too. She worked as a nurse in our NHS, then NHS nurses cared for her when she was ill.   Labour will get our NHS back on its feet.

Tory housing policies are the reason why nearly 150,000 kids now live in temporary accommodation. Gove has served in nearly every cabinet over the past 14 years. Spare us the crocodile tears and give us a general election so a Labour government can start to clean up your mess.

Action must be taken against unregulated and unaffordable ground rent charges. Leaseholders deserve to know why the Tories have abandoned their manifesto promise to restrict all ground rents to a peppercorn and why ministers so rashly raised expectations.

The UK’s alliance with the US is critical. Cooperation isn’t a luxury but a necessity. This is why I visited Washington DC this week 👇🏿

An asylum system – rebuilt. The criminal gangs – smashed. The exploitation of some of the most vulnerable people in the world – prevented. That is the future you can choose. That is what my mission-driven Labour government will deliver. No gimmicks. Just graft.

A really useful catch up with @bentravisceo and the team at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Woolwich, today. We discussed the challenges they are facing, including elective surgery waiting lists and A&E waiting times, but also the huge improvements made including to bed capacity.

We must do more to protect our existing and future social housing stock. A Labour government would reduce the overgenerous Right to Buy discounts introduced in 2012 and strengthen protections for newly-built social rented homes.

People have a right to expect security at our borders. When I was the country’s chief prosecutor, we smashed terrorist gangs abroad. If I’m privileged enough to become Prime Minister, we will smash the people-smuggling gangs.

Labour’s New Deal is a core part of our mission to grow Britain’s economy and raise living standards across the country. Greater security, enhanced rights and a stronger collective voice, are key to inclusive growth. Proud to address CMI’s Women’s Conference.

Our AGM on 24th May, 7:00pm at Blackheath High School in Vanbrugh’s Park: yes, some reports and some voting, but then @joe_beale will talk about nature recovery in the Dips and elsewhere in Westcombe Park. A great opportunity to understand our area better!

Today we remember John Smith who died thirty years ago. I remember being with him the night before he died when he ended his speech with "all we ask is the opportunity to serve." John's whole life was a testimony to the nobility of public service.

Climate experts were increasingly saying that keeping heating below 1.5C is near impossible, yet it remains the global goal. So I asked hundreds of top IPCC scientists what they thought. What they said shocked even me… 🧵 1/n #ClimateCrisis

🏠 When we build social homes, we’re building better lives. We’re building stability. A brighter future. But right now, we don’t have nearly enough of them. We need to build good social homes again so a new generation can be proud to say: we are #MadeInSocialHousing .
