One of our
@uwucrewnft
artists is currently going through a difficult battle with cancer.
I've gotten her permission to organize a fundraising event to help support her treatment.
Any donations to 0x3245A7013fFcb36BaeA4d56bb655eb097cF67983 would be greatly appreciated! ❤️
Hello everyone. I've been quiet and sad these past days bc I found out that I have stage 3 breast cancer and ulcerative colitis. I should just accept my fate of having my breasts removed and have chemo. I really thought that 2022 will be a great one for me.
Every day I see posts like this about NFT art theft - it's a shame to see this happen to so many artists in and out of NFTs.
Some thoughts as to why this happens and how to stop it:
today I found out that searching my own name on
@opensea
brings up 132 instances where my art was minted as NFTs without my permission. apparently the only way to get them removed is by writing individual emails for each listing, which I literally don't have the time for.
💝HAPPY 1 YEAR

qrts on this are so incredibly cringe
happy to support an amazing artist with an open mind exploring the space, please let me know if you need any guidance or have questions!
probably gonna try out nfts, dont understand them or why they are controversial, but cant keep making less than 10k a year and so if there is a chance want to be able to afford healthcare and stuff, sorry if it offends you and please do whatever makes you feel comfortable
I've given
@foundation
the benefit of the doubt for months, but i have never seen anything embody "1 step forward 2 steps back" as well as they have with their recent UI changes
Hoping that this shines a light on these bad practices and serves as a warning to new artists and collectors entering the space.
Adding some of my own thoughts below...
This is formally a call out to
@shibe75
,
@ECollectionNFT
, and
@withFND
for allowing a large "under the table" art sale operation the past few weeks/months to continue.
Ecollection has privately sold 23 pieces of unsold art from newly onboarded artists to Shibe.
1/18🧵
To new artists:
I would highly recommend not going through middlemen and learning as much as you can first by interacting with artists/collectors in the community.
@AnifamNft
and
@MATcrew_NFT
are both great places to start.
I miiight be biased, but the 2-step mint system that
@0xKiwi_
designed for
@uwucrewnft
is even more impressive after the insane gas war today.
8000 tickets sold in 7 mins, each NFT only costing around (0.06 base + ~0.02 buy ticket+mint) since you could mint anytime after sale
In the past few days, we've had:
- multiple CT villains resurface
- massive exchanges completely collapse or become unusable
- friends with massive %s their portfolio wiped out overnight
this really feels like the season finale to the crypto '22 nightmare
@_NaokiSaito
on NFTs:
"There is a reason why I decided to participate in such a world.
It is to realize a world where all artists can express themselves. I think the world of expression needs dreams."
To collectors:
We are responsible for doing our own due diligence, and should understand that what we buy has influence in the space.
Let's consciously consider who we make deals with and whether the artist is being fairly compensated in the end.
Kind of insane how a site which hates and wants nothing to do with and NFTs is doing 1000x more to protect artists than any existing NFT product or marketplace. Doesn't help the already terrible sentiment towards NFTs.
