like WHAT oh what could it be that's telling you that Jack Black or Seth Rogen are TERRIBLE romcom leads but Adam Sandler is totally believable as the king of romcoms. WHAT COULD IT BE I GUESS WE MIGHT NEVER KNOW other than it's obviously you hate fat men otherwise huge mystery.

@misskubelik Love that impulsively trading lives with a complete stranger is plausible but Jack Black is a bridge too far. (I hate that movie, but mostly because I can't help thinking the unseen sequel is Diaz becoming Mommie Dearest to Law's kids.)

@flmfrkcentral every year it's the same thing, some skinny person gets about halfway in and is like "I don't know, I hate them together, I can't figure out why." when they are 500000x more reasonable and workable as a couple than Diaz and Law who, I agree, have such bad vibes re; the kids.

@elliot20201 ymmv but it's a pretty classic romcom about two women who are in bad places in their lives who do a HOUSE SWITCH and find UNEXPECTED love (with Jack Black and Jude Law, respectively) once they arrive at each other's houses. Soooo if you're into that

@misskubelik Hollywood made a huge mistake in not putting him in more romantic lead roles. I watch The Holiday every time it comes on BECAUSE of Jack Black.

@misskubelik Jack Black is SO good as a romantic lead, I wish he’d gotten more roles like The Holiday. He and Kate have so much chemistry in that film (Jude Law and Cameron Diaz not so much, but I’ll overlook it). Fatphobia ruins things for everyone again

@misskubelik I couldn’t stand Jack Black’s character because he seemed like the kind of guy who’s always “on” and fancies himself the dashing hero of a romantic comedy, just a moonstruck fool looking for his leading lady. I dated a guy like that IRL and NEVER AGAIN. Fat doesn’t come into it.
