Why must some teachers bring others down?
Caring about my classroom doesnβt make me a βnaive newbieβ or mean that Iβm a bad teacher because it doesnβt fall in line with some βresearchβ.
I work tirelessly for my students & I do so from the comfort of a nice roomπ
2018 vs 2019

In light and making light of TAG mayhem, I want to pass on the love by making/giving away two of tote bags.

4 years ago today, broken, I wrote to my university to withdraw from my PGCE after being bullied and belittled at my second placement school.
I was told that Iβd never be a decent teacher.
Uni talked me out of it.
Iβm glad they did. I proved that person wrong.
Welcome to my display hack/tricks thread.
I get loads of questions about my displays so here's to not gatekeeping.

Well, here we are π€£β¦ 2022-2023 displays! βThinking geographicallyβ
Hoping to show students just how wonderfully vast geography is!
Hope they love being in the room as much as I do π
Because I have too much time on my hands.
Some of my students don't want to travel/know the world outside their own town. So I'm knocking up one of these for every country to inject some knowledge about place and culture!
I'm a sucker for a random fact!
#geographyteacher
*giveaway* Iβm trying to cleanse the crap of this weekend off my notification list.
Like this post and I will make 5 peopleβs departments some badges for their end of year gifts x
Will select Tuesday 14/6 7pm.

I loved making this for a friend for Christmas and overwhelmed by how much others love it. Like & comment with your favourite read of 2022 and on 24/12 I will randomly pick one person and will make you your own bauble with your 2022 reads/favourite books ππ
And we are done. π
Displays 2021-22 π₯°
The most time consuming display yet with a lot of it being hand drawn on the iPad.
But Iβm in love with it and I hope the students find it an aspirational and exciting learning environment to be in.

One of my top teacher tips is an emergency supply job. This is my third year of doing this in case I forget something/ have a long day!
And always include Β£5 in there in case thereβs a whip around for a staff member or you need to buy lunch!

One of our Y11 boys loves buses. He went and asked
@StagecoachSE
if he could ride the bus to prom. His favourite bus is the jubilee bus. Out of pure kindness they donated their time and gave him his very own prom bus.
Thank you for making a wonderful boyβs prom dream come true.
Shout out to every teacher trying to take a home covid test but has to keep restarting the 30 min countdown because they canβt stop snacking or drinking π
Since my NQT year Ive had an emergency box. In my cupboard I have a stash locked away of things Iβd need if I forgot lunch/had a parents Eve/ have to stay late/ general supplies/emergency biscuits if someone had a bad day.

Trolling is not ok.
Pretty sure Iβve only got a few hours left with my baby. Sheβs just not okay. Knowing that Iβll probably walk out the vet alone in a few hours, is killing me.
EXPLORE THE WORLD
I made this originally last year for something for our students to do over the summer and plan share again this year. It was a labour of love and near enough ended me, but if you'd like a copy:

Good morning to all the teachers promising to get their life together again as soon as half term hits on Friday afternoon.
Or as we in the profession like to call it, New Years 2.0
Sounds odd but I saw a TikTok where someone said the biggest wellbeing trick on a work day was getting home and changing into a new outfit. I used to stay in my work stuff til I changed for bed. Literally now feel like I start a new portion of my day and work is behind me

Shoutout to the teachers who have realised they have two weeks left of summer and vow that tomorrow *is* the day theyβre going to start being a productive member of society
Dear government,
One way to reduce the poor morale issue in education would be to offer those who work in education subsidised holiday prices that match term time prices.
Thank you for listening to my ted talk,
Next PM xoxo
Shoutout to the teachers who are contemplating why they are βweek before Christmasβ tired, three weeks into the academic year. I donβt have the answer, but I do empathise. May your coffee tomorrow morning be strong, and the printer remain unjammed.
Am I the only one who is desperately looking forward to the summer holidays to purely press the reset button on pretty much every aspect of their life?
Making things is keeping me sane. So I want to give away some personalised bits to someone

Well, here are the 2023-2024 displays (thread).
Thereβs a lot of disagreement regarding displays but I simply donβt care. This year Iβve tried to ignite a desire to see the world as many of my students have not/ have no desire to leave their locality π
Thinking of displays for 22/23 and Iβm stumped!
The evolution from 2018 (NQT)- 21/22

2024 is all about spreading a little joy. β¨Books in charity shop were insane and 50p today so Iβve made a little free library (made a few bookmarks and grabbed some tea!) to put in the pigeon hole room at work to feed/create some bookish habits for colleagues in the new year β¨
Four years ago I created a careers display that has since been adapted and found its way into countless classrooms of all subjects! Have spent some time today giving it a facelift and adding extras for 2022
