The new bill that allows teachers to carry guns into schools will pass the concurrence vote in the House. @GovMikeDeWine said “I look forward to signing” it. This bill makes it so teachers can carry guns after 24 hrs of training instead of the 737 hours required by law. Awful.

I have lost 100 lbs since Jan 6. I have walked 5 marathons & 14 half marathons since June 13. Got a physical. Cholesterol went from 207 to 181. Triglycerides from 304 to 54. BMI from 32 (obese) to 22 (perfect). Feeling good. In shape to do good for my family & my community.

10 years ago today the Archdiocese of Cincinnati fired me for supporting marriage equality. I am able to say it was the best thing to happen to my career fighting for equality and equity only because I am a straight white man. That fact fuels what I do.

Since the CPS vaccine requirement policy took effect on Oct. 8th: 87% of our staff is vaccinated 12% is participating in weekly testing Only TWO staff members are not in compliance 99.99% compliance The vaccine policy worked and our schools are safer than most.

Two tears ago I couldn’t walk up a flight of stairs without taking a puff of my inhaler. Today, I ran 35 miles and didn’t touch my inhaler. You can do anything with commitment and mindfullness. This all started five years ago when I quit smoking. Adding years to life feels good.
