@pmddomingos Physics gave us transistors, from which all modern electronics descends, and optical fibers, the backbone of all modern communications. Even considering only the post WW2 contributions, the ROI of physics is huge!

Excellent video about exponential growth for those who are not very familiar with the the corresponding math. For my more tech/math knowledgeable friends, I also recommend it as excellent from a pedagogical perspective.
