Conor McCluskey had seven minutes of c'ship football before this year.
Kieran McGeary, Kieran Hughes, Jamie Brennan, Aaron Griffin all scoreless and replaced. Shane Walsh scoreless from play. And all while offering plenty to Derry's attacking moves.
A brave innings

Derry beat two division one teams to get to an Ulster final. Then, when they went behind, found a way to win the in Clones another big gun.
Narrative seems to be about the shortfallings of Tyrone, Monaghan and Donegal.
Derry won Ulster the hard way and deserve credit

Well done to Mickey Moran, some record in club management. Sigerson, Connacht as well

Fair play to Kilcoo. Never ever lie down
Diarmuid Baker never played co minor or u-20
Went from QUB Fresher Thirds team to POTY on first team

Sunday was only Eoin McEvoy's third senior championship game and he is only out of school five minutes, but he had some performance yesterday for a cub in from of a packed Clones
His block on Murnin before half-time was a huge moment in the game after two quickfire Armagh points

Today's manic Monday is an emotional last one as the County Derry Post Sports Editor.
Thanks to all those I have worked with and alongside over the past five or so years. It's a top notch local newspaper and long may it continue.
If an Ulster player shook a goalpost with the obvious vigour in the face of a pressure kick as happened in Sean O'Shea's case it would have been surely brought up on the

A great game. Lovely touch seeing Jack O'Connor hailing the performance of Kilkenny
He'd have turned 30 today, but sadly, aged 17, Brian Óg McKeever was taken far too young.
I chatted to some of those who knew him best. A warrior on the field, a witty and charismatic character off it. We can learn so much from him.

In 12 championship games across both codes - Karl McKaigue has scored 0-6 but held his direct opponent scoreless in 11 games ... only Danny Toner (B’galget) scored off him

@GACSlaughtneil
Derry GAA have told clubs that only three people are allowed inside the pitch enclosure for games across the rest of the championship
Manager, selector and medic - all will have labelled bibs.
Everyone else in dugout, stand, designated area

Not long in the door from Croker
March 25, 2018 - Shane McGuigan's first ever goal for Derry not enough to prevent Derry from relegation to Division Four
March 31, 2024 - He bags two penalties as Derry win seventh Division One title
Some difference in the spin home.

The St Patrick's Maghera players in the Derry minor group have dedicated today's win over Galway to their coach in school, Martin McConnell.

A real touch of class
Devastation. Played to win and were so, so close.
Back knocking at the door again.
An excellent group to make Derry people proud again.
A foundation for more to step onto. Thanks lads 🔴⚪️
Rogers immense and MOM for me

Question: Can you believe it was your 70th appearance for Derry?
Shane's answer: Daddy said you tweeted that last night, but I've deleted Twitter for lent.
He didn't go off burling points for lent

This photo of Paul McKeever represents all that we should look for in an underage coach. A knowledge of the game but more importantly...an ability to bring kids with you

Sick as hell but no complaints. Felt Derry would win but was also edgy about it. Ryan McHugh had Derry in bother. Hats off to Donegal. They made use of the space over the top from Patton.
Time to regroup and for those to be mindful of what they tweet. Players are human

Tyrone explain their pricing structure.
Yes, the cost of everything has gone up, but GAA fans' income probably hasn't in a lot of cases.
County boards need to remember it's a community based organisation. End of story.

Sunday was a 125th senior game for

Eamonn Burns held a fundraiser last Saturday night in Ballinascreen to raise money for the local cancer charities that supported him.

Twice during the last minute, with sides level, both times when Derry were on the attack, Shane McGuigan was pulled to the ground as he went to join the attack but ends up with a yellow. Baffling

Chatted with Donal at Glen's homecoming. To say he was a very proud man is an understatement.
My thoughts are with his family and friends. Rest in peace Donal.

A true gent and a pillar of the community.
He gave so much.
There wasn’t many Slaughtneil games, or those involving their grandchildren, that Patsy and Mary missed
A life well lived - RIP Patsy
Four Ulster hurling titles out of the last five and the last nine Derry championships is some mark of consistently. A serious group of hurlers 💪

Sunday will be a 50th senior appearance for Paudi McGrogan, Derry's 2017 Ulster minor winning captain
McKenna Cup: 9 (Debut v UU 2018)
NFL: 36 (Debut v Longford 2018)
SFC: 4 (Debut v Armagh 2020)
Chrissy McKaigue is set for a 100th senior inter-county appearance - league and championship - at home to Limerick today. It will be his 116th in total, including the Dr McKenna Cup. That's serious longevity when you count him missing parts of county seasons with Oz & club duty
Five years ago next Saturday, Derry were relegated to Division Four and now it's back to the top flight for the first time since 2015.
Some progress by all involved and it's great to see so many kids (and big kids) excited again

Sunday's win over Galway was Paudi McGrogan's 70th game for Derry, starting 65 of them.
Since the start of Rory Gallagher's tenure, the 2020 win over Longford is the only game he didn't play in.
He has started the 51 games since.

Paudi McGrogan captained Derry in the 2017 minor final, his last underage game.

To many he will be associated with the H&A logo on Derry and ‘Screen gear, but there was so much more to Hugh ‘Peter’
