In our paper, we distill conservation priorities to:
1. understand the world
2. act in the world
3. evaluate impact
AI holds potential to contribute:
— AI for earth observation
— sequential decision-making
— causality
with ample challenges requiring new methodological advances!
Last fall, CRCS held the AI-Assisted Decision Making Workshop to pinpoint conservation challenges that require methodological advances in AI.
This white paper summarizes the discussions held and challenges raised on conservation area management.
So, so proud of undergrad Rachel Guo who presented her fantastic thesis today! It’s been a joy to advise her for two years.
