Raising the minimum salary for a skilled foreign worker from £26,200 to over £35,000 means no junior doctors, nurses, allied health professionals. This is definitely not going to work.

God forbid that we actually put some investment into training more people in the U.K. I am not sure why ripping off the healthcare systems of poorer countries is seen as such a big win.

This Govt doesn’t want to provide health & social care for its people.
Guess as many elderly people as they had hoped for didn’t die despite of their careless policies during COVID. They see elderly & disabled just as a “cost” to tax payer, but will turn blind eye to tax avoiders

They will have to add exemptions for any jobs where there is currently a shortage. So the policy won't actually do that much to reduce numbers. It's more smoke and mirrors rubbish.

Remind me, how long does it take to become a fully qualified doctor or nurse? It’s a pity that serious illness won’t wait while we train our own. We should have increased the number of university places for them many years ago.
