When we film very tight close-ups, only the tiniest clapperboard will fit in shot. Maybe you have to be on set to appreciate it, but when it’s brought out it looks so adorable that everyone involuntarily goes “awww” #ThisIsGoingToHurt 6/17

We filmed two different versions of Adam’s GMC speech, and ultimately used a mix of the two in the edit. By the end of the first take, Ben’s performance had moved me to tears and I couldn’t speak to say “cut” #ThisIsGoingToHurt 15/17

5/ When @simonfarnaby co-write this brilliant episode, he made sure he could film most of his scenes in one day while lying on a bed. Sadly a rat had died under the bedroom floorboards and so the 10hr filming day was spent inhaling a toxic mix of Febreze and rat 🤮 #BBCghosts

9/ I made a storyboard for the carol to check that we could squeeze all the story beats into one verse. And we could, as long as we repeated the last line. In this early edit, you'll hear Robin howling like a wolf in the chorus (we scrapped that idea eventually) #BBCghosts

8/ The last thing we filmed for the series: Julian's nightmare. When Covid stopped the shoot a bit early, we had no time to film the floating heads - so we did them at Simon’s house on the 2nd-last day of the edit. He had to pretend my glasses case was a 90s mobile #BBCghosts

I’ll be eternally grateful to the NHS because when I broke my hip in a bike accident in 2019 (here’s my X-ray), they screwed me back together for free at the Royal London Hospital… which is 300 metres away from our fake hospital set. #ThisIsGoingToHurt 17/18

3/ For the scenes that take place in a different location, we don't have the budget to travel everyone somewhere else, so we film everything in a camouflaged bit of the main house. eg, the minicab office was a little set built inside a luxurious drawing room #bbcGhosts

Just about to start filming on Ghosts series 2. And we’re making history: it’s the first comedy series to be shot in one single 3-hour take. Been rehearsing this for months. If we get it right first time then this is the first and last day of filming 🤞 #BBCghosts
