So I have Covid. Got unlucky. I would urge you all to please keep wearing masks especially in crowded spaces/transport. I’m 2x vaxxed and it’s now day five. I haven’t been able to move! It’s a terrible disease and we have very high rates in the UK. Stay safe!
So. Series 4 of
#bbcghosts
is tomorrow. It will be on the big telly and
@BBCiPlayer
and look, it’s crucial you don’t spoil it for everyone if you binge it because…
Just know that it might cheer you up in these dark times. I hope it does. That’s all we want. Love you, bye…
It’s been an emotional morning. Please remember that exercise will flood you with endorphins and make you feel instantly better. Some moves for your routine perhaps? Love you guys. x
Boy in park: “Hey you’re the Horrible Histories guy” Me: “Yeah.” Boy: “You’re my second favourite.” Me: “Cool. Who’s your favourite?” Boy: “The one with the thin head”.

Thank you all so much for your birthday wishes. I arrived this morning ready to go-Captain and found a room full of balloons! No better way to spend the day.
Heartbroken at the news that Helen McCrory has died. She was so so brilliant when she came to work on Bill. Funny, generous, some wicked stories. I was in awe. My heart goes out to Damian and their family. Rest in peace.
Thanks for the birthday love. Always found them hard, for various reasons, but today is splendid; bright sun, cold snap, laughing with boys on way to school thinking how lucky we all are.
So if you’re feeling a little low - and you know who isn’t (for obvious reasons) - you can start to get in to the seasonal spirit by watching last year’s Ghosts Christmas Spesh tonight! At 8.30 (20.30 Zulu for those Captains among you) on BBC1. Grab a mince pie and snuggle in.
Lived a long life with bullies and the self important, the pushy self entitled pr*cks who just take and take and take. Bye now. Bye. Get some help. Bye.
My favourite part of parenting? The 8am WhatsApp message reminding me it’s ‘orange sock day’ or ‘don’t forget your cardboard medieval hats!’ - haven’t tweeted in a while so YOU’RE WELCOME to this gold.
Just been vaccinated. Didn’t thank the staff and volunteers enough. The rate people are flowing through just one centre is incredible. Left with a sense of optimism, not for me but for humans and what we can do. A rare feeling nowadays.
🚨NEWS! From
@Lazbotron
and
@benwillbond
comes a brand new feature length comedy just for Dave! Set six weeks after aliens have invaded Earth, We Are Not Alone explores the culture clash between humankind and our new alien masters...
As summer ends, I give you these - my 7 year old’s trainers, bought at the start of his holidays. He’s whizzed across beaches, plunged in to streams and thunked in to mud. Skate parks, fields, playgrounds have all been left in his wake. They look as exhausted as I feel.
My little boy is nine today. Nine. Time speeds up and no one tells you. His little bed head bobbed in at 6am. My own nine year old self plays around the edge of all this and I have to tell him it’s ok.
Isolation day 19 (I’m looking after my c+ 7 y/o). We play a lot of Monopoly. Now his penguin does too. And the penguin is winning. Keep wearing those masks 😷…
Who’s ready? Jimble jambles? Quality Street? Baileys (adults only, other cream liqueurs are available, drink responsibly)?
@Lazbotron
and
@MarthaHD
have written a beautiful script.
@ferrifrump
guest stars - I was gutted not to be on set (because Covid plus I would have imploded).
Terrible photo but I took it on a morning run. It’s not a brag, but I wanted to post it because as the sun came up it was WARM. And the birdsong was glorious. Hope. After a horrific year. Stay calm, stay safe. *Cap’s voice* Right, enough blubbing... carry on!
Drama! Intrigue! Tears! Laughter! Angela Lansbury (kind of)!
#BBCGhosts
series 3 concludes tonight on BBC1, and it's an absolute corker. Run to your tellies for 8:30pm.

Grimacing against the cold, a short stop at the Commando Memorial before heading to Fort William and the start line. Please take a moment to look at our

Very tough listen for me. Adrian’s experience of abandonment at school is like listening to my own story and I can hear it in his hesitation to speak at times. Hugely brave and
@laurenlaverne
was so brilliant. These stories need to be told.
Thank you to all at
@MCMComicCon
,
@bigtalk
,
@UKTV
for a wonderful screening of
#WeAreNotAlone
on Saturday. But mostly thanks to this splendid lot who greeted
@Lazbotron
and I after the event. I was overwhelmed by your gifts and your messages.
Nothing like an
@BAFTA
nomination to make this morning’s training better. Tried to high five a runner going the other way but they just looked at me like I was mad. WELL DONE EVERYONE!
Lots of veeeerrry confident shorts wearing in a London today. I’m sure to see a devil-may-care flip flop before the day is out. May your gods go with you.
Autumn, then. Time to get those pullovers out. (I secretly cheer at the change of season). You’re supposed to love those sunny days but you know, autumn.
Bill (
@billthefilm
) is playing today on BBC1 at 14.10. A perfect Sunday afternoon family film I reckon. We love it when it’s discovered - an Idiots passion project. Tell all your Ghosts fans to tune in!
My little boy lost his bear. On an
@AvantiWestCoast
train at the end of August. We’ve logged it at the
@AvantiWestCoast
lost property but he seems to have vanished. My stories of him travelling on his holidays are wearing thin. Bereft doesn’t cover it.
If
#Vigil
is getting a bit heavy for you, try our
@BBCRadio4
sitcom
#DeepTrouble
– also about a nuclear submarine, also 5,000 miles beneath the surface – except ours is manned by idiots, and ours has a young
@BenWillbond
. Clear winner. 🌊
Just passed the event horizon of needing glasses ALL THE TIME. The age of dad roles is truly upon us. And don’t come at me with ‘it’s been here for some time’ because I’m tired. I’m tired.
I should also like to say that we loved making the show and are so proud of it. We wanted to make a comedy that could be enjoyed by all and we’re so honoured to be included. Thank you!
Talking of voices… when I was very very low I would listen to this, just to remind me it was going to be ok. Very good to have at the end of your running track. Or just play very loud. Start the week properly, yeah? Yeah.
Currently on the mend from another bout of Covid. Guys it’s still really nasty so you know, take care. One thing I’ve gleaned from bed rest: when The Equalizer warns you, pack a bag (just a few things) and leave town. It’s that simple.
