Today I was explaining to a non-medical friend why "curing breast cancer" is so complicated (ie mutations, receptors) and I realized: We as a medical and scientific community need to better educate the public. That ~5 min convo totally changed how she sees medicine and research.

I've endured some really hard moments this year. Ex:my apartment complex caught fire during finals, I got COVID and a concussion within 3 weeks of each other, and my car finally died today. All while trying to stay afloat in M2, and prepare for boards and just feel human. 3/🧵
