@AlexanderFaludy Obviously this must be read against the backdrop of the impending election, but still, this is deeply destabilising. While NATO are working out what article 5 would entail, one calculation that hasn't featured yet is what happens if a member state collaborates with Russia.

@IanDunt That's because most Brits only speak English. In translation, German humour is lost, which confirms their view of Germans and humour. Germans, by contrast, speak English, which is why they watch British comedy, which again confirms the view that they have no humour of their own.

My sense is that Brexit will become real to many in the summer of 2021 when Brits go on their summer hols to discover phone bills worth £1,000s, huge health care and repatriation costs and first serious problems of overstaying their welcome. But we didn’t vote for that!
