Today marks a bittersweet milestone — my last day at
@iconicwp
. I started it in 2018, building on top of my first plugin from 2011. Leaving the team is tough, but I'm excited to start a new chapter with
@automattic
as a Product Lead for
@WooCommerce
Core. To new beginnings! 🥂🚀
@denvercoder
To be clear, I’m currently hiring for a full-time WP dev with immediate work. Happy to pay some upfront to help you out if you can do the work in question.
When I had a week off after leaving Iconic and joining Automattic, I decided to put myself to work and build this playhouse/cosy corner/bunk bed for my kids to enjoy in their playroom. Happy with how it turned out, and they love it! 🏠
@damengchen
I personally don't like this kind of message - comes across as entitled and threatening. I'm all for working with customers and making them happy, but this kind of message is toxic!
The flexibility of
#Gutenberg
and ACF blocks is fantastic.
I was able to create this dynamic pricing table for
@iconicwp
without diving into the complexities of creating a JS-based block.
My next focus area will be WooCommerce order management; the orders list, order edit screen, etc.
If you want your voice heard when it comes to what goes into this for WooCommerce core, follow me, share this post, and watch out for my tweets as I tackle this area of WooCommerce!
Excited to say that I'll be the Product Lead for AI-based projects inside WooCommerce (alongside Order Management). There's so much that can be done with AI and ecommerce. I'm looking forward to exploring that with the AI team at Woo!
We're in the process of switching Iconic's store over to
#WooCommerce
. This means we can finally use our own Flux Checkout plugin! It's looking really smart.
We've got the capacity for another Senior
#WordPress
Developer on the
@iconicwp
team! 🎉
I'll be putting together a full job spec this week, but if you're interested, drop me a message. DMs are open.
Please RT 🙏🏻
Super excited to officially launch v1 of Orderable this week for WooCommerce
So much work to bring you time slots, tipping, custom checkout, timed products, product addons, product layouts, and more!
Working on a new site for
@getorderable
and this svg line was a challenge to make responsive both horizontally and vertically! 😅
A few tweaks to make, but happy so far.
Today I flew an aerobatic plane! ✈️
We did a few loop-the-loops and some rolls, plus a mix of the two at the same time.
Rolls certainly made me queezy 😂
Good news! Today she’s been accepted onto the history PhD programme!
Just goes to show it’s never too late to change your focus area. She was in fashion/merchandising/buying before this.
Super proud as always.
Very excited to announce that I have taken over the reins of
@getreplybox
It's a fantastic product for privacy-focused website commenting. More updates to come!
Have you seen the new developer docs for WooCommerce? It was launched last week!
The team is open to feedback and want this to be the most useful developer resource for WooCommerce.
we quietly launched new developer docs for
@woocommerce
over at last week! 🎉
this is one of many steps we're taking to improve woo's developer experience, but we need your help 👇
Thanks to anyone who voted for me as Developer of the Year in the Seshies! 🎉🏆
@WooSesh
Well done to all the other winners and nominees, including my friends
@bobwp
and
@Barn2Plugins
/
@KatieKeithBarn2
. What a great few days we've had with all the talks.
Today I flew an aerobatic plane! ✈️

Made it to Asheville! It was pouring down with rain in Charlotte which didn’t make for a great first driving experience in the US, but looking good over here 😄
Also, I went with the Dodge Challenger 🚗
Today is my 10 year wedding anniversary! At the weekend we're going to see Moulin Rouge at the theatre in London, one of the first films we watched (and sang) together almost 17 years ago.
Then WCEU on Weds. I sense tiredness in my future.
I put together a blog so I can do more deep dives into what we're working on at Woo.
My first post explores the "Launch Your Store" and "Coming Soon" mode features I've discussed recently. I'd love your feedback on the points listed towards the end! 🙏🏻
Getting so close to completing the rebuild of
@iconicwp
using
@KadenceWP
- with it will come some great new bundles and All Access plans!
I see a lot of Gutenberg hate, but I've quite enjoyed using it for this project.
After months of work, the rebuild of our
@iconicwp
website is about done! Launching next week.
It uses
@KadenceWP
,
@wp_acf
, Gutenberg, WordPress (of course), and some custom code. 🎉
I really like this concept of "be the host"/"help the host". I'm proud to be on the "help the host" side with WooCommerce core — it aligns well with me and my goals.
Everyone working on WooCommerce core at A8C holds a "help the host" card.
I'm really enjoying being in a position where I can talk to the community and bring that back to the awesome Woo team in the form of ideas and concepts that will make an impact to WooCommerce users.
Hopefully I keep discovering cool links 😄
@jamesckemp
I think you should be promoted to WooCommerce community relations manager (which probably wouldn’t be a promotion but you know what I mean). The last few weeks are the first time I’ve ever seen Woo engaging so positively and openly with the wider community.
Did you know about the WooCommerce feature request board? I'll be using this as one of the many channels when determining order management priorities. If you've got ideas, get your votes in!
We're really into
@github
workflows over here, we have one that releases our plugins to
@freemius
, modifies the version numbers, updates the live changelog, deploys to the demo site, clears the
@Cloudflare
cache. There's so much you can do!
Another link for you today. Did you know WooCommerce has a public discussion board on Github?
The Woo team will often post here to get feedback for ongoing projects. Another great way for you to have your say!
If any UK businesses need help getting their store online, let me know. Happy to help guide the store setup using
@WooCommerce
or even
@Shopify
, at no cost.
Maybe some group Zoom video calls? Let me know who needs help!

Some shots of the amazing
@stellarwp
and
@nexcess
booths from

.
Had an amazing time meeting everyone and got some cool shots of San Diego in general. Incoming!
Meeting some of the Woo team in Charlotte, NC at the moment. From what I've seen so far of Charlotte, it's a very nice place! There also seem to be a lot of people into running/jogging here 😄
Starting our Monday with an unnecessarily aggressive email from someone who isn't even a customer.
I basically told them to find another product. We don't need that kind of negativity over here!
Now when you click "I want to sell online" on , we promote a whole list of great hosts alongside Woo Express. Truly leaning into the "help the host" card.
What do you think? Is this a good thing for WooCommerce?
I was tasked with finding some pictures of myself for a professional email. How about the time I arm wrestled
@eddiehallWSM
?
Based on the expressions, I clearly won, effortlessly.
Great innovation from our team at
@iconicwp
— Adding a delivery slot to an order as an admin now has fantastic UI!
Well done
@pramodjodhani
for implementing this great feature.
@ChrisBadgett
You're wrong 😁
"an" would come in front of LMS, because "L" has an "el" sound (vowel).
But if you're saying "learning management system" it would be "a".
Twitter's autocomplete when tagging people is pretty useless. You have to pretty much know the exact handle to tag someone. I swear it used to work based on the user's name? It seems to prioritise users I don't follow over those that I do...
