I think the Wings are entering the most dangerous part of their rebuild. Jump too early and you risk getting stuck in mediocrity. Wait too long and you risk wasting the primes of your best players. I think this is the phase that’s most difficult for NHL GMs to manage

Yes. We absolutely do not agree with such behavior in a professional athlete who, likely, is an idol for many children. Totally unacceptable. We know he's not the only one doing this. But share it on social media? He should be punished accordingly.

By request, I pulled all the game logs from 1979 on (first year game logs were available) from @hockey_ref and compared Alex Ovechkin's era-adjusted goal scoring rate to the other top era-adjusted scorers. He's very much in a league of his own.

It’s been only 8 games but I think Blashill has earned some deserved praise here. Not much was expected of the Wings after learning of Vràna’s injury but he’s got this team playing fast, playing tough, and he’s put his 2 skilled rookies in excellent positions to succeed
