I get what you’re saying, but if your child is using any kind of substance and ur aware you cannot stop them from doing it i would rather have my child doing it somewhat safely instead of having them smoke it from a self made pipe made of aluminum or some other crap.
@jojokkcal
of course there is worse, but just because there is worse doesn’t mean this is irrelevant or shouldn’t be talked about. I don’t think you understand the impact this COULD take on KIDS.
since this is already the end of this thread, i just wanna repeat that no matter how severe an infection is, you should always seek medical help!
Feel free to ask questions if you have any!
**WARNING: i am not a medical expert.**
before i start i wanna say that these are not in order and some of the symptoms occur after a different period of time.
Also using clean tools and cleaning the wound before bandaging can help prevent infection in the first place.
this includes not using dirty/old tools!! No, your bl4de is not safe even if there’s just a tiny bit of rust and ur using the other side. Cleaning your tool before and after ur „sesh“ can decrease the risk even if it’s just a little.
**- Pus:** Small discharge of pus is usually a sign of your wound healing. However, if you notice an unusual amount of pus draining from your wound it is most likely a sign of infection. Other symptoms that play part are bad odor/smell and/or change of color (pus) such as 🟫🟩🟨
- Clean your hands and wound, gently patt the wound dry.
- Use gauze and bandages or big medical wound plaster.
- Replace bandages and gauze daily. When removing your bandages and gauze, be careful to not rip of new build scabs.
- Keeping it clean and how, when you’re changing the bandage and gauze make sure to disinfect it, i usually spray the disinfectant on my wound and on a separate gauze, put it on the wound and let it soak for 1-2 mins.
**- FEVER: sign of a more severe infection.**
**- CHILLS: sign of a more severe infection.**
**- NAUSEA: sign of a more severe infection.**
if those symptoms occur immediately search medical attention!!
**- Pimples/crusts:** Pimples, formation of pimples near or around the wound is a sign.
Aswell as yellowish crust, yellowish crust occurs when pus builds up and dries out on the edges of your wound.
No matter the severeness, infections should always be looked at by a medical expert.
If you can seek medical help do not try to treat an infection at home, please.
But i am aware that some people cannot or not always seek medical help, so here is how to treat it at home:
Redness: Mild redness that fades after some days is totally normal, but if you notice excessive redness spreading around the area of the wound and it’s not fading it is a sign of infection. The reason for the excessive redness is that blood is being sent to the area.
i fucking hate this addiction, i know that the styros r not enough for me to feel valid and that I will have to go through hours of multiswiping so I can peacefully go asleep
**- Hot to the touch:** a wound feeling warm for the first 5 days is normal but If you notice that the temp doesn’t cool off, it’s a sign of your body fighting an infection.
**- Swelling:** If swelling occurs around the cut it’s a sign your body‘s immune system is working, if the swelling does not fade after a few days and either does not reduce or swells up more, it is as sign of infection.

the thing is, we don’t know the whole story. We don’t know if she is already getting professional help and how her mother handled the situation. I still feel like we both do not have the right to judge a book by its cover. I can only speak from my personal experience -

I understand you cuz I’ve had the same thoughts, but it’s not worth it. the dangers of accidentally loosing a lot more than expected may in some cases be fatal:( also, even if it goes as “planned” you’re gonna be exhausted and wound healing might take longer. Stay strong!
