Social media is exhausting. If I’m being honest, I wish it didn’t exist. It does a lot of good, but I honestly don’t enjoy it. It’s a necessary evil needed to grow a business in the 21st century, but trying to keep up with the Jones’ and produce content constantly… idk man.
@CoachDubMaddox
Reid & Shanahan use large sheets, Leach & Riley use notecards. All masterful play callers. I don’t think there’s a right answer, only what’s right for each guy and their own thought process/way they prepare & approach the game.
Wanted to brag on my QB this morning.
184/316 (58%), 2,269 passing yards, 32 TDs and 8 INTs this past year.
The focus this offseason will be upping the completion percentage and making quicker decisions.
Big time senior year incoming for 11.
This game doesn’t mean the same to them as it does to us, and that’s okay.
They take our money, belittle us, and look down on us from their elitist ivory tower. Let’s stick it to them one last time.
Go do the thing boys. Immortality is within your grasp.
@TexasTechFB
A message to anyone in the future thinking about scheduling us for homecoming:
We are undefeated in homecoming games this year, and have outscored opponents by a combined score of 120-28.
We don’t want to ruin your weekend, but we will if we have to.
That is all.

Ft. Worth Covenant Classical is running one of the best true “Air Raid” offenses in all of six-man football right now.
This is them against Richland Springs in ‘21. Final score was 119-112, Richland.
Lots of great ideas and schemes from both teams on this tape.
Settle this for me and
@HoelJess
. Who had the better ball?
His was deeper but mine stayed outside the hash and the target didn’t move. I’m just saying…
Respect your elders, Jess.
Young QB’s-
With all the scrambling he did yesterday, the one thing Joe Burrow did consistently was keep two hands on the ball throughout.
Mahomes got loose with it, lost it, and it potentially cost them a game winning TD.
Remember that.
This is the kind of character you build programs on. Cannot describe how proud I am of this young man. He’s been through adversity time and again, and time and again he keeps fighting forward. Carson Jackson IS the Chop Wood Mentality.
We are happy to announce that we have successfully completed our itinerary for this year's The “Six” Coaches Clinic - Bryan, TX. We have a great lineup of speakers and look forward to seeing everyone out at the clinic! Follow the link in the bio for registration details!
You don’t rise to the level of your competition. You sink to the level of your culture.
How your team practices, plays, watches film, take notes, conducts themselves in class. That is your culture.
The culture. The culture. The culture. It’s all about your culture.
I am very excited about the McGuire era.
Kliff had a similar 1st yr (8-5, big bowl win), but that included a 7-0 start & 1-5 finish.
This team did the opposite, ending the year on a 4 game win streak. Finishing strong is something we’ve always struggled with.
We have our guy.
One of our guy’s artwork for the State Art Competition entitled “Chop Wood.”
Made my day getting this picture.
The culture. The culture. The culture. It’s all about the culture. CHOP WOOD!
Proud of these guys. Only one senior healthy, 5 dudes out for the year including 4 starters & surrendered the last score with only 5 on the field. Whew! Haha, 6man football at its finest! You gotta love it.
Proud of this team. There’s a lot to build on.
Chop Wood Carry Water.
So grateful to be able to be a part of the first annual “Six” Clinic. Gonna be a good time down in Aggieland. Looking forward to talking ball and learning!
🚨 Speaker Announcements 🚨
We are happy to have all the coaches that have confirmed to be speakers for our clinic thus far! We look forward to having them out at The “Six” Coaches Clinic!
Stay tuned for more speaker announcements… 🔜

I simply will not tolerate the disrespect/recency bias any longer.
You pick whatever metric you want, it’s not even close however you look at it.
Graham Harrell is the greatest quarterback in Texas Tech history. Patrick Mahomes had some neat highlights. I said what I said.
I do love seeing Lincoln Riley’s flashy little California all-star squad get beaten down and taken out of the playoff by an old school, blue collar Utah football team.
P.S.- No dude who paints his nails should be allowed to win a Heisman trophy.
I have so many guys tell me “I don’t watch football, I just play it.”
I hate to tell you, but it doesn’t work like that. I’m not saying you have to be glued to the TV, but you have to be a student of the game.
You just simply won’t be successful if you don’t study the game.
“It’s not about the X’s and O’s. It’s about the Jimmy’s and Joe’s.”
Anytime you have the dudes, and your best dudes are your hardest workers and best leaders, you have a chance.
Trying something a little different today. What do y’all think? Start doing these? Or just keep charting the plays?
I am currently too cheap to pay Twitter for longer videos so the full 3min clip is on Instagram 😂 link in bio if you feel so inclined.
@TheCoachDK
The hard part abt preparing for one of these teams is that it takes you so far out of the MO in terms of what you usually see. Hard for a scout team to replicate it well & hard for the D to adjust to it. If you have far superior players you still usually win, but it can give fits

Watch your words, they become actions.
Watch your actions, they become habits.
Watch your habits, they become character.
Watch your character, it becomes your destiny.
@RocketRayburn
You’re right, comments made on Mike Leach and Chris Beard have no effect on either situation, just like your comments have no effect on TV broadcasters.
We all talk about things we care about, regardless of their impact. What was your unnecessary comment meant to accomplish?

One of the best head coaching/football pieces of advice I’ve heard-
“If you get the chance to do the thing- do it your way.”
It’s Saturday. Go get ‘em.
#ChopWood
They actually used to do this believe it or not. It was called segregation. Not a great idea imho, but I’m also just an average white guy, so what do I know.
I’m sick of average white guys commenting on football. Y’all not even good at football. Can we please replace the Pro Bowl with an All-Black vs. All-White bowl so these cats can stop trying to teach me who’s good at football. I’m better than ur goat.
One of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever heard is that passing yards shouldn’t include YAC.
The quarterback’s whole job when he drops back is to put the ball where his guy can make a play, and where he has the best opportunity to continue downfield.
Couldn’t be more proud of our guys. Class all the way around from Borden Co and from everyone there. Big thanks again to
@jstanaland
and Jayton for having us out. Lots of fun. Time to get back to Chopping the Wood.

Mommy is getting her nails done, and the boys are helping daddy get ready for Spring Football starting on Monday. A perfect Saturday in the Kingdom!

Spring Break is over. Back to the Process.
Remember- Greatness is not for the chosen few. Greatness is for the few who choose.

today.
Absolutely critical that guys understand this.
45 seconds of explosiveness beats 4 min of nice plays any day. If coaches aren’t blown away in the first 2-3 plays they won’t watch the rest anyway. Keep it short and impressive.
Side note, not every TD is a “highlight.”
I like the McGuire hire. West Texas has so many high level recruits that don’t stay in state much less in the 806. If we can keep half of those guys, it could turn the program around.
Double slants/wheel out of trips vs. man.
Proud of our kids. We’ve traditionally been a tight, power run team, but w the personnel we have & are going to have we’ve slowly transitioned to the true Air Raid this yr, and they’ve embraced it & are having success.
Onto playoffs!
Balmorhea running “16 Speed” out of J against Richland Springs in the 2016 State Championship Game.
Really like this concept from one of the all-time greats, Coach Vance Jones.
I really like Burrow, but it is good to see a team like Cincy humbled. The ego was out of hand leading up to this game. Pride cometh before the fall.
That being said, there are some serious questions that need answers when it comes to the officiating of that game. Horrendous.
The transfer portal and NIL are the two worst things to ever happen to college football. It’s ruining the sport, and creating soft, entitled men in the process.
