Is the KC offense really fixed or did they just play the two most depleted defenses in the NFL before only putting up 17 in the AFCCG? Is the 49ers’ defense really a liability or did they just play two of the hottest offenses in the league? Hard to say 🤷‍♂️

I suspect the correct answer is somewhere in the middle, but the priors going into the playoffs were that SF was a pretty dominant team, and that KC was having a down year (by their standards) Instinctively, it feels like we are overreacting a bit to a small post season sample

@greerreNFL I think it’s fair to say the KC offense is limited enough outside of Mahomes there’s only so much fixing it you can do until new talent arrives. With SF not having a coordinator the same level as Baltimore’s, should make for an interesting matchup.

@after_yards Yep, I think 49ers have an edge, but it’s very close I’d be more surprised if KC put up 30 than 17

@greerreNFL The chiefs defense is going tk handle that 49ers offense. 49ers have played two top 5 passing defenses this year and lost to both of them. Chiefs are going to be locking up Deebo and Aiyuk

@chiefstalk1 This could totally happen. I don’t think it will personally, but wouldn’t be the most surprising outcome

@greerreNFL People thinking KC will just replicate what Lions did as if they have anywhere near the same personel is funny

@greerreNFL The Chiefs will score however many points they need to, to win. They have proven that.

@greerreNFL I mean if you include the last 6 games of the regular season, the 49ers are on an 8 game stretch of allowing 23 PPG. And they've played some really bad offenses in that stretch.

@greerreNFL I mean, the team starting Brock Purdy is favored. The hot take artist may be overreacting, the betting markets aren't.

@greerreNFL Niners D has been sus from week 1 against the run. They just met 2 teams which ran the ball really well and had a great OL! Also, the fact they are in SB is pure luck!

@greerreNFL Or did they just go ultra conservative after scoring 17 (really 21 without the bogus holding call on the Rice screen) in the first half due to dominating play by their defense? If you think Mahomes couldn’t have scored any more points in the second half if necessary, go for it.

@greerreNFL KC offense is not suddenly the 18 or 21 team however for the most part they have been much better. Especially in the playoffs moving the ball well & not having wild drop % and penalties they had all season. 49ers D to me has been good, but not near elite Ravens territory

@greerreNFL It’s not fixed the way that you think. It’s been altered. More 3 TE big sets for physical football over the wide open offense people are used to seeing. Relying on Mahomes efficiency & Pacheco power to compliment a very good D. Adapt. That’s why Big Red is the NFLs best coach
