@gran1te_mtn 8 hours for Boston to DC? Only on a very good day. The maps apps are not very good at predicting travel times on I95.

@gran1te_mtn They’re so used to hopping on a train or a £20 flight they don’t understand the freedom & countryside enjoyment of drives

@gran1te_mtn Sacramento to LA to is 6.5-7.5 depending on traffic. Make that drive all the time. Europeans don’t understand us

@gran1te_mtn Last year I was chatting to my barber in Lincolnshire about my weekend plans to visit Wales. He said “I hope to see Wales someday” in a forlorn tone reserved for forbidden dream that will never happen. Only a 3 hour drive away.

@gran1te_mtn That's about the same travel time as Detroit, MI to Corbin, KY -- a trip I've done literally hundreds of times.

@gran1te_mtn This is not even a road trip. It’s a what we say in Texas a “day drive”. I visit my mom who also lives in Texas and it’s a 7.5 hour trip. Do about 2 round trips a year. I would love that day drive
